Rare Condition

LEAH “Let me go.” He didn’t give me a choice. Dominic’s hand closed around my upper arm in a firm, not cruel, but impossible to pull away from grip and steered me out of the bedroom like I weighed nothing. My legs still felt unsteady. Every step made me aware of the wet fabric clinging to my chest and the slick that had soaked through my underwear and started sliding down my thighs. The cold air of the hallway hit the damp patches on my uniform and made me shiver. He took me back to the study. The door shut behind us with a soft, final click. He didn’t lock it this time. He didn’t need to and the look on his face said I wasn’t going anywhere. “Sit.” He pointed to the leather chair across from his desk. I sat because standing felt impossible and maybe … I was too scared to disobey. My hands twisted in my lap, trying to hide the growing wet spots on my shirt. It was useless. Milk was still leaking in slow, steady drops. I could feel each one leave my body. Dominic walked behind the desk, picked up a black phone, and pressed a single button. His eyes never left me while it rang. “Marcus. I need you at the house. Now.” A pause. “Private entrance. No one else. And bring a full kit.” Another short silence. “It’s not me. It’s… something else.” His gaze dropped to my chest for half a second, then returned to my face. “Hurry.” He ended the call and set the phone down with careful control. The silence that followed was thick enough to choke on. I stared at my knees. “Who did you just call?” “My personal physician.” His voice was flat. “He’s the only person I trust with certain things.” “I don’t need a doctor. I need to go home. Whatever this is, I can figure it out-” “You’re not going home.” The words were quiet, but they landed like a door slamming shut. I looked up. He was still standing, both hands braced on the edge of the desk, shoulders tight. The black of his eyes hadn’t fully faded. He looked like a man holding himself together by force of will alone. “I can smell you from here,” he said. “It’s stronger now. Sweeter. It’s coating the inside of my throat.” His jaw flexed. “I’ve spent fifteen years making sure nothing could pull this out of me. Fifteen years of suppressants and control and isolation. And then you walk into my house for a single shift and it all collapses.” My stomach twisted. “I didn’t do anything on purpose.” “I know.” He dragged a hand down his face. “That’s what makes it worse.” We waited in silence. The only sound was the low hum of the air conditioning and the occasional soft drip of milk hitting the inside of my bra. Every time it happened, Alpha Dominic’s nostrils flared like he could hear it. Twenty minutes later the door opened without a knock. The man who entered was older than Dominic, maybe early fifties, with silver at his temples and the calm, assessing eyes of someone who had seen every kind of emergency. He carried a black medical bag. The second he stepped fully into the room, he stopped and inhaled. It only added to my fear and worry but….. His expression changed. “Jesus Christ, Dom.” “I know.” The doctor set his bag on the desk and looked at me properly for the first time. His gaze was clinical, but I still felt exposed. He could clearly smell everything too. “How long has she been like this?” he asked Dominic. “Since she walked into the study. It got worse in the bedroom.” Marcus nodded once and turned to me. “I’m going to need to examine you. Nothing invasive. Just vitals and a few swabs. Is that all right?” I wanted to say no. I wanted to run. Instead I gave a tiny nod, because the alternative was sitting here leaking and terrified with no answers. He worked quickly. Blood pressure. Temperature. A small light in my eyes. Then he asked me to unbutton the top of the uniform just enough so he could see the state of my skin. My face burned as he observed the milk still seeping steadily from both n*****s. He took a sterile swab, collected a sample of the liquid, and sealed it. Another swab went between my legs for the slick. I closed my eyes and tried to disappear. When he finished, he stripped off his gloves and looked at Dom. “Lactis Syndrome,” he said quietly. “Rare. Extremely rare. I’ve only seen two confirmed cases in twenty years of practice. Her body is producing milk and heightened slick in response to a compatible Alpha’s pheromones. The trigger was instantaneous the moment she entered your scent range.” Alpha Dominic didn’t move. “Compatible.” “Perfect match, from the strength of the reaction.” Marcus glanced at me, then back to Alpha Dominic. “Her system recognizes you as the primary. Once that lock happens, it doesn’t reverse easily. The more time she spends in your presence, the stronger the production becomes. And for you…” He exhaled. “Your control is already compromised. I can see it. If she leaves right now, the withdrawal on your end will be ugly. Possibly dangerous.” Alpha Dominic listened in complete silence. His face gave nothing away, but the tension in his shoulders had gone razor-sharp. Marcus packed his bag. “I’ll run the samples to be sure, but I’m confident. I’ll leave suppressant options if you want them, but they won’t do much against a lock this clean.” He looked at me one last time, something almost like pity in his eyes. “I’m sorry. This isn’t something you can just walk away from.” Then he left. The door closed and the silence that followed felt heavier than before. Dom walked around the desk and stopped in front of my chair. He didn’t touch me. He just looked down at me with those dark, unblinking eyes. “Your scent locked into me the second you opened that door,” he said. “I felt it happen. Like something inside my head clicked into place and refused to let go. Marcus confirmed what I already knew.” His voice stayed low and even. “If you walk out of this house tonight, I will hunt you. Not because I want to hurt you. Because my body won’t give me another choice. The fixation doesn’t allow distance. Not anymore.” My mouth went dry. “That’s insane.” “Yes,” he agreed without hesitation. “It is. I’ve been called worse.” He crouched so we were closer to eye level. The position should have made him less intimidating. It didn’t. “I’m going to make you an offer,” he said. “Your mother is sick. I looked into it while we waited for Marcus. The treatments she needs are expensive and ongoing. I will cover every bill for the rest of her life. Private care. The best specialists. No limits. In exchange, you stay in this house for one week. You let me… adjust to this. You let me keep you close enough that I don’t lose what’s left of my control.” I stared at him. The offer was …. Intriguing. I would not lie. Mom was indeed sick and the expensive tests doctors have to run in the coming days were too expensive. So I did- what a good daughter in such a situation had done. “One week.” “One week,” he repeated. “After that, we reassess. But if you refuse and try to leave tonight, I will still find you. And the version of me that comes looking will not be this calm.” The honesty in his voice was more frightening than any threat. My breasts still ached. Milk continued to leak in slow, humiliating drops. The slick between my thighs hadn’t stopped. And the man in front of me was offering to save my mother in exchange for seven days of my life inside his walls. I thought of the hospital bills stacked on the kitchen counter at home. The way my mother had smiled through the pain and told me not to worry. The one-day shift that was supposed to buy us a little more time. Desperation is a quiet thing. It doesn’t always scream. Sometimes it just nods. “Okay,” I whispered. Dom’s eyes flashed. Something raw and possessive moved behind them before he locked it down again. “One week,” he said. “You sleep in the room adjoining mine. You don’t leave the private wing without me. And when the leaking gets too much, you come to me. I’ll take care of it.” Heat flooded my face at the implication. He stood and held out a hand. I hesitated, then placed my fingers in his. His palm was warm and dry and far too steady for a man who had just admitted he was losing control. “Welcome to the next seven days, Leah,” he said quietly. The way he said my name made the ache in my chest throb harder. I had agreed out of desperation. I already suspected that desperation was going to cost me more than I understood.
