Chapter: 15 That’s how I wound up in the office of Ronald Graid. Mr. Graid, whoever he was, had an office downtown a few blocks from the courthouse. His office was in a basement, and you had to go into an alley and down some stairs to get there. The door was heavy and had standard gold lettering. Past it, I was greeted by a tiny simply furnished room that held only a single chair, a large plant, and a wall full of seven filing cabinets. A redhead of impossible proportions sat behind a large desk that was so clean it was clearly just as much for show as she was. The nameplate on the desk read Helen C. Collins.
