Chapter: 16 The north side of town was the nice end. I lived downtown with the dregs and houses that were more than a hundred years old. Here everything was shiny and new—that included the bridge. It wasn’t hard to find. It wasn’t in a well-traveled area, either. The road ran north and east, and there were a few subdivisions being built on the near side. Nothing but farmland after that. Lucky thing too, it made stealing a goat rather easy. In the long run, the farmer would probably thank me. A troll’s favorite food was goat and sheep, after all. We only had a tiny one.
