The scene was a horrendous one. I unfortunately hadn’t believed Iyelda would kill her own son, not while she was in her final moments herself. But I guess evil doesn’t rest. Everyone stood around, unsure what to do as Yvonne and Jeremy huddled over Zachary. I could hear him gurgling.
“It’s ok, son. You may rest.” Jeremy lightly caressed Zachary’s head.
Yvonne was crying harder.
“D-dad, I wish— wish w-we had m-more time.” I refused to turn back around and look at him. My face was in Alexander’s chest as he held me close.
“Son, the time I was able to spend with you, I will cherish for an eternity.”
“Zachary, you were always loved. Don’t ever think we didn’t care for you.” Yvonne spoke, her voice shaking.
“Yvonne is right.” Bree surprisingly said something too.
