Damien’s POV  The floor was cold and hard beneath me when consciousness finally dragged me back to reality. My mouth tasted like something had died in it, my head pounded with the fury of a thousand hammers, and when I cracked open my eyes, the morning light stabbed through my skull like hot needles.
