Aria's POV Ding. Ding. Ding. The sound dragged me from sleep like hands pulling me underwater. My head throbbed with each knock; a dull, persistent ache that reminded me of the scotch I'd drowned myself in hours ago. I buried my face deeper into the pillow, willing whoever it was to go away. Ding. Ding. Ding. The security bell started ringing, that shrill, invasive sound designed to wake the dead. It rang once, twice, then continuously, like whoever was out there had no intention of giving up. "Oh my God," I groaned, my voice scratchy and raw. My mouth tasted like regret and expensive alcohol.
