Damien's POV
Lily wouldn't let me sleep. Everyone else was tucked away in their rooms, the house quiet and dark, but here I was, still awake with a five-year-old who refused to close her eyes. I needed to catch at least a few hours of sleep before the verification tonight, but Lily's eyes were still wide open, bright and alert despite the late hour.
"You have to go to bed, honey, so I can catch a little sleep. Daddy is so tired." I faked a yawn, stretching it out for dramatic effect, but she wasn't buying it. Not even a little.
