Aria’s POV
There was a brief pause from my end. Not because I didn't know what to say, but because this felt like a nightmare unfolding in real time. I knew how much finding her baby's father meant to Maya. How she'd talked about it, wondered about it, and obsessed over it during late-night phone calls when the loneliness got too heavy.
But if I were being honest with myself, I'd say I'd never actually wanted her to find him.
The ultimate reason was simple. He was younger. Much younger. And this was an unplanned child, a one-night stand that had resulted in a pregnancy neither of them had anticipated. Bringing this young man into the baby's life would only cause chaos. More chaos than Maya needed, more complications than either of them could handle.
