I was sitting on the couch with Zoey and the kids watching the latest Disney sitcom when my phone rang. I assumed it was Pen so I answered without looking.
“Hey P, what’s up?”
“Umm...hello? Darby?”
“Uh, yes, speaking.”
“Hi Darby, It’s Daniel.”
I shot up off of the couch and started fixing my clothes and hair like he could see me.
“Daniel, hi!” I said a little too excitedly. “How are you?”
“I’m good. I hope I’m not disturbing you.”
“No, no, not at all. Just sitting here with the kids watching a little TV before they go to bed.”
“Oh, okay I’ll keep it brief. I don’t want to interrupt. I was wondering if you would like to grab a cup of coffee sometime soon.”
