Casper
The thought of her with another man made my blood boil.
She may be stubborn and insist on not gracing my bed, but hell if I was going to let another man within an inch of her.
Leah gaped at me, her cheeks going red as her eyes flared. "I am not yours."
"As long as you bear my name, you belong to me." I said coolly, unfazed by her anger.
She was flushed, but all it did was make her look more attractive to me.
She faltered a bit, her eyes displaying a lot of emotions. "You know what, maybe this was a mistake." she said after a long moment, and reached for her purse.
"I wouldn't do that of I were you, because right now, the only option you have, is me."
I saw the confusion cross her face, and allowed it for a while, enjoying it, before I pushed a file that had been sitting in front of me at her.
Her frown deepened as she took the file and opened it.
I sat back and watched, enjoying the different emotions that crossed her face as she read the document.
By the time she was done, she was livid.
Her eyes literally blazed, but I maintained my cool, grinning even.
"You bought out the Mac Fields'?"
I shrugged, my grin widening. "Trust me, you are better off without them,"
She blinked, and then slowly rose to her feet, her gaze holding mine.
"You are a bastard!" she hissed and dumped the file on the table before whirling around on her heels and walking away.
On instinct, I got up, intending to follow her and bring her back, but I restrained myself, deciding to give her time.
It's not like she had a choice now.
Leah Thompson was going to be mine, whether she liked it or not.
I texted my security team to have someone act as a taxi and make sure she got home, before sitting back down and ordering another bottle of wine.
She had to learn, one way or the other, that I always got what I wanted.
I never actually had to go through all these length, but with her, I was willing to.
I waited a few more minutes and then walked out of the restaurant, feeling smug.
I got into the car and pulled out my phone again and dailed a number.
"Where is she?"
"At the gym, Sir." the man on the other end answered.
I almost burst into a wry laughter at his answer.
Who went to the gym when they had something as serious as what we had going?
Leah...apparently.
A part of me wanted to follow her to the gym to see what she was up to.
"Take me home." I said instead to the driver, and leaned back on my seat.
We had enough time.
And I had eyes on her.
I was giving her the rest of the day to come up with a positive answer, which I was sure would happen.
I got home, feeling a bit of a headache coming on, and thought about going straight to bed, but just the mere thought had me alert.
I hardly ever slept.
I couldn't remember the last time I had gotten a full night's sleep.
The only time in years since I had slept soundly was the night with Leah. I had slept so deeply that I hadn't heard her leave.
The front door to the mansion was opened for me and I walked in, wanting nothing more than to have a cold shower and do some business from my home office, but a figure walked in front of me, blocking my path.
"Not now, mother." I hissed, eyeing my mother as she stood in front of me with her arms crossed.
Stella Williams II had married quite early, birthing two sons, almost twenty years apart.
One could take a look at her and not guess she was over seventy years old.
"Thats no way to talk to your mother, Casper!" she scolded, stepping closer to me.
My mother was a force, scary in her own way, and just also knew how to get on my very last nerve.
I was the last surviving son of my father, and now had the responsibility on my already heavy shoulders to produce and heir to my family's empire.
I had made sure to let them know I had no intention of marrying, but my other brother, Chloe's father, had gotten in a crash that made his chances of bearing another child next to zero.
Which turned all attention to me.
"Sorry, mother." I forced the words out and bowed my head so that she could see some sincerity.
"Well now, I happened to stumble on a news article, son," She looked up at me with a straight face, "And I got to find out my son, has a girlfriend and I didn't know about this!"
My stomach instantly fell. "What do you mean?"
