Chapter 28

Leah The jewelry store was exquisite, and had a familiarity to it that I couldn't quite put my finger on as we walked in. I slipped my arm around Casper's, still annoyed at him from earlier. The whole car ride, he had been silent, his face buried in his laptop like his life depended on whatever was in there. I on the other hand, had spent some time on my phone, researching MC clubs in the area. I had even come across a tournament, and made a mental note to ask Fabio about it later. Camera lights flashed, making me jerk slightly, then blush when Casper pulled ne closer. He felt so warm... "I thought I gave orders for this place to be rid of the media when I came?" he growled lowly into the phone. I could only imagine how the person on the other end felt under his tone. "Get rid of them now! I will not let you discomfort my wife!" My cheeks went red hot, and I ducked, not wanting him to see me. Why did it sound so hot hearing him call me his wife? A woman walked over to us, and from her uniform, I could tell she was a staff in the store. She cast and unsure gaze towards me, then pasted on a bright smile as her eyes landed on Casper. I scowled inwardly. "Good evening Mr Williams. How may we be of service?" Casper didn't spare her a glance and instead placed a light kiss on my temple that set my skin ablaze. "Show your best jewelry to my wife." he threw at her, then pulled me in close, by my waist. "I have a little business with the owner of this place, baby. I'll be back in a few." I blushed further when he leaned in and kissed me lightly on the lip before walking away in long strides that I found sexy. I caught myself mid stare and turned away. There was nothing sexy about that arrogant man. Nothing. Liar. "Aheem!" I jerked slightly and turned to see the woman looking at me woth a disapproving stare. "Follow me, ma'am." she said, sounding g forced. I could tell she already didn't like me, and didn't care. Many women pined after Casper Williams. It was nothing new. "We have some new limited edition collections. If you would like to see those, I can show you." Limited edition? I wasn't a jewelry kind of woman. I could barely tell which was topaz and which was diamond and didn't really care in general. But the thought of hurting Casper's bank account suddenly hit me and I nodded. "Show me." She took me to a more private setting and excused herself, returning with three trays if what I believed were the jewelry she was talking about. Another man walked in, wearing same uniform, with five more trays. They lined them up on the glass table in front of me, and I almost gasped when I stared at them. "These are the latest diamond pieces. All raw and precious." she pointed to one, but I was barely listening as my eyes caught on one on particular. It had red stones that were far from smooth, but looked like the best damn thing on earth. I guessed it was Ruby, from the colour abd reached for it. "Those are uncut rubies. And the cost is just on the slab next to it." she said again, her tone full of unmasked irritation. I eyed the price tag and almost had a heart attack when I saw just how many zeros it contained. But the goal was to hurt Casper's account to I picked it and ran my gaze over the rest of the jewelry. "Package them all. I will be getting all of these." I smiled at her. Her eyes widened. "But ma'am, these are all raw pieces. The price added together_" "And I said I would be getting them." I interrupted smoothly, my tone firm. I knew what she was doing. But like hell was I going to let her. She looked at me for a long second, before stomping off in her high heels. I fought the urge to roll my eyes and turned my gaze back to the jewelery. I briefly wondered what will cross Casper's mind if he saw the debit, or the bill, and let out a laugh. The sound of clicking heels came again, and I turned, thinking it was the staff, and immediately paused, before growing still. "I would be mindful of touching what I couldn't pay for if I were you."
