Rebirth Under The Eclipse

Chapter Thirteen: Rebirth Under the Eclipse The sky turned black at midday. Not with storm clouds—but with an unnatural, celestial shadow. A rare Blood Eclipse—feared by the elders, worshipped by the ancients. In the heart of the forest, where the moon’s magic was strongest, Lucien’s body lay upon the stone altar of the Sanctum of Howl, surrounded by silver runes, flickering firelight, and a gathering of mystics. Aria stood beside him, pale and unmoving, her pulse echoing with dread and devotion. This wasn’t healing. This was resurrection. --- He had chosen her. Now the universe demanded its price. --- The high priestess stepped forward, robes trailing smoke, her voice a whisper. > “What returns from the eclipse is never what entered. If he lives, he will not be the same man.” Aria’s voice cut like a blade. > “He wasn’t just a man. He was mine.” --- The ritual began. Silver flames licked the sky, and ancient howls rose from beneath the earth. Lucien’s chest began to rise and fall. Then stop. Then rise again—sharper. His skin glowed with moon-blood light, his eyes flying open in a blaze of white fire. And when he sat up—gasping—he exhaled a howl so primal the forest trembled. --- But Aria saw it instantly. His eyes were different. No longer gold. But silver—like hers. The same cursed, gifted hue. --- Lucien was reborn. Not just Alpha. But Prime. Something older. Stronger. Feral and divine. A creature who had tasted death, and come back claiming dominion. --- Later, alone in the sanctum, Aria faced him. His touch was different—deeper, colder, hungrier. Yet… still him. She pressed her hand to his bare chest, feeling the pulse of new magic where once had been only pain. > “What are you now?” she whispered. Lucien leaned close, lips brushing her ear. > “Whatever you need me to be.” --- They made love as if the world would end before morning. His kiss was a vow. Her cry, a war-song. And when he finally marked her again—this time not just with teeth, but with his new blood—they saw visions: The throne. The fall. The future. --- In the shadows, the Moon Goddess watched. Her chosen children had passed the fire. But destiny had not yet revealed its final cruelty.
