73 LYNNE I wished I knew what was happening in London. I stood at the front door, looking out across the valley. In my mind, I could see him chopping wood…meditating on the stump…waving to me to join him. Will I ever see him again? I wondered. “You haven’t been sleeping.” I turned. Rafaela stood in the doorway, a look of disapproval on her face. “I can’t sleep when he’s not there with me,” I said. “You slept without him for forty years,” Rafaela reminded me.
