45 LYNNE I found a church not far from the hotel and went there in the evening while Connor was out. You can’t throw a rock in Rome without hitting a church. I entered the sanctuary and took a seat in one of the pews. Christmas was ten days away and I had no idea where we would be on that day. I wondered if we would still be alive on Christmas morning.
