Lost in the Darkness

Chapter 6

(Jade)

Jade woke up early the next morning even though it had been a late and eventful night. She was glad that she had chosen to go into the forest when she heard that sound on her way home last night. Jade quietly peeked into her bedroom to check on Daphne. Daphne was sleeping peacefully snuggled down in the comforter and pillows.

Today was supposed to be Jade's day off but she felt that she still needed to call Darrel to see if Ashley was able to work today or would she need to come in to help out, even if she had to come in later after getting things straightened out with Daphne or bring Daphne with her and just have her family meet them there.

Jade picked up her phone and gave Darrel a call.

“Hey “ Answered Darrell on the second ring

“good morning, did you need help today Darrel? Or is Ashley there today?”

“Hey now today supposed to be your day off, Jade. I don’t wanna over work such an awesome worker. But it would be a big help if you would be willing to come in since Ashley just called and said that she had to take her son to the ER a few hours away. Turns out he got a serious sinus infection and she might be out for a few days.” Replied Darrel

“Oh no, will he be alright? Yeah I can come in . when would you need me? I just have to take care of something first or can I bring someone with me?”

“Yeah. I think Travis will be okay. Ashley said they got him in as soon as they got there and already gave him medicine and removed what they could of the sinus infection. Eh as soon as can possible? Someone? Who?” Asked Darrel with wonder

Especially since he knew Jade mostly kept to herself.

Jade explained what happened on her way home last night to Darrel

Oh you found Daphne?! Oh gosh glad you found her I know her family was frantic looking for her. You sweet girl of course you can bring the little darling in . I'll fix y"all breakfast on the house and you can just have her family meet you here. Darrel replied happily

Darrel was old friends with ALPHA Dane and his pack even though Darrel was a wizard and his wife Melonie was a witch.Darrel had felt terrible yesterday when he couldn’t help find her since he was so busy at the diner and his wife was away.

“ you know her? Asked Jade

Yes I go way back with her Dad, Dane. Replied Darrel

Oh great then I'll call and tell them to meet us at Dino Diner. Thanks Darrel! We will be there in just a few Replied Jade

Jade woke up Daphne and help her wash up and get ready. She had washed Daphne's pink dress last night before she went to sleep and cleaned her shoes.

The two girls called and let Daphne's parents know to meet them as Dino Diner.

Then the pair hurried on their way down the road to the Dino diner for the breakfast Darrel had promised.
