Chapter 10

The doors of Dino diner chimed as Melonie walked in back from her trip.

Melonie noticed the family and rushed to hug and greet everyone. Then she saw Jade and yelled.

At Darrel, “ you better not be overworking my favorite employee, Darrel!”

Jade laughed and it sounded like music to the ears.

Melonie smiled widely

How are you doing Jade? My husband isn’t working you too much, right? I want to keep you around. You are the best employee ever.I love you. Hell if Darrel would let me I'd adopt you!

Darrel laughed loudly.

The family looked at Melonie with surprise. They had never ever in all the time they had known Melonie seen her be this friendly to anyone other than Darrel, not even Ashley, the other waitress that worked at the diner got this friendly of a reaction from her.

Haha Melonie I told you. You can't adopt me. I’m 18 an adult, remember? Giggled Jade

But no he isn't over working me. I'm working today because Ashley had to take Travis to the ER and I volunteered to help . plus the extra pay will come in handy for the holidays, you know?

Oh no is he alright? said Melonie

Yeah Ashley told Darrel she should be back in a few days so I'll cover till then it'll be alright. said Jade

Don’t over do it. You gotta look after yourself, girl since you wont let me adopt you even if you are an adult. School good?

Yep school is great. my teachers are recommending me to help some big organizations. Apparently they wanna...

hmm, what was it they said? ah yea "tie me to the town" since I fixed all those issues at the school and in TRINITY. said Jade

Haha girl if I was half as brilliant as you and half as beautiful I might have never settled down laughed Melonie

Darrel came out of the kitchen and scowled at his wife .

Melonie just laughed at Darrel scowling at her then walked over and kissed him on the cheek to pacify him. Darrel flashed a smile at Melonie.

Fiona piped up “ wait a minute, this is the woman that solved all those tech issues and got all those issues in town solved?!

Yep she sure did said Melonie

This here is Jade Ether, the brilliant scholarship student that was gifted a full ride to the college plus other awards. She is wicked smart plus just has a way with people.

You could have graduated super young or something but choose to go thought all highschool and became an orphan in childhood but somehow made it through everything that was thrown at you plus you were offered scholarships and internships from all over!

Jade chuckled yup that’s me the most wanted wis kid of the year

So, how did you decide to come here ? said Dane with a quick glance at his son

I don’t really know to be honest. It was like a pull almost I guess you could say .

plus when the college offered a full ride after I applied and I had other scholarships as well how could I turn down such great luck. Plus, I found a small little house in such a short time after being accepted I figured it was fate And it was just plain luck that I found such a great job as I was unpacking within my first week here. Of course, Trinity is great too. Everyone is so sweet here and good-natured. Said Jade
