Lost in the Darkness

Chapter 3

(Jade)

Jade and Daphne got inside the cozy little house quickly. “ Are you cold, hungry, sleepy, or anything?” asked Jade as she went into the kitchen preparing to make some snacks and something warm to drink for both of them. Jade directed Daphne to her couch to have a seat.

“ Would you like to call your family now ? Or do I need to call the Sheriff to help you?” asked Jade as she set down the snacks and drinks on the small table in front of the couch.

Daphne sniffled “ yes I wanna call my family… but im worried..” “Why are you worried?” questioned Jade

Daphne told Jade what happened with her brother. About how she had found some papers and thought she could color on them but when she showed her brother her drawings. He yelled at her then she had run away crying but had gotten lost in the forest and could not remember how to get home. Then she had wandered around trying to find her way home but couldn't when it got dark.

Jade slowly smiled at Daphne. “ I am sure no one is mad at you in fact I bet everyone is worried like crazy. Here, use my cellphone to call them. Do you know the number?”

Daphne slowly smiled at Jade. “ Really? You really think they miss me and are not mad, even my brother?”

“Absolutely, I bet it would make them feel better to hear from you at least.”
