As I entered the school today, I got tons of curious stares as well as looks of admiration from my fellow students. Random strangers who I had never spoken to before came and congratulated me for my win and I waved at them politely, not knowing what else to do. It was like I had turned into a celebrity overnight. Long gone were the days of me hiding in own oversized hoodies.
A hand suddenly wrapped around my shoulder and its owner whispered into my ear proudly, “Way to go, Miss popular.”
I smiled at Mia gratefully and flushed the next moment as I realized that I was getting all kinds of looks from the students.
Mia smiled smugly at me and said snidely, “Isabella’s little trick backfired, didn’t it? Now there isn’t a single kid in St Lawrence who doesn’t know your name”
