“Hey”, I said in a small voice as I saw him waiting for me by the entrance of KNB’s office.
He had a foot leaning on his car and he looked so comfortable there, waiting for me.
He grinned at me and opened the door for me and I got in meekly without another word, feeling nervous at the very thought of what I was about to do.
He started the car and he started humming happily as he drove along the highways. Seeing him in a happy mood made me guiltier than I already was since because of me that mood wasn’t going to last much longer.
Unable to keep it to myself any longer, I said, “Luke?”
“Hhm?”, came his reply, his eyes still firmly fixed on the road.
I took in a deep breath, collecting my thoughts then let it all out.
