John's gaze lingered for a moment on the way Lex was shielding Sabrina. A dark, unreadable emotion flickered in his eyes, but soon, the faint smile Sabrina knew so well returned to his face.
"Sabrina," he said, his voice softening, though it still carried an unmistakable authority. "I've been looking for you for more than half a year. I didn't expect to find you here. Are you done playing around? If you are, come back with me."
Sabrina finally recovered from her shock. Hearing his matter-of-fact tone, she felt a wave of absurdity rise in her chest.
She lightly patted Lex on the arm, then stepped forward and looked straight at John. "John, I think you've misunderstood something. We're already divorced. Where I am and what I do have nothing to do with you."
