Her Unexpected Mates

Chapter 6

Isabella’s POV

 I wake up ready to start a new week, over the weekend the pack was preparing for the full moon. I spent Saturday afternoon at one of my friend’s automobile shop, he was fixing up my race car. I have two cars; one is my drag race car and the other is my sports car. That night I almost got caught by the police, drag racing is illegal. Sunday,  I spent the afternoon in the garden practicing my natural magical powers by growing the plants.

 I took a shower this morning before I got started to get ready for school. It is a little colder today then normal, but winter is coming in a few months. I walk through the school parking lot wishing I had a jacket. I get to my locker hoping that I have a jacket but nope no jacket. I grab my books and close my locker. The second my locker something warm is wrapped around me. The scent of pine and mint overwhelm my senses. I turn around to see Leo behind me.

“You know you’ll get sick if you don’t wear a jacket.” Leo tells me.

“I know I was going to take one of Ace’s. I don’t want you to be cold.” I say.

“I have another jacket in the car, I’ll be fine.” He says. “Are we still working on our science project after school today?”

I groan and put my head on his chest, his chest vibrates with his laughter.

I sigh, ”Yes, but I have to practice after school so meet me in the gym after class.”

“Ok, now get to class before your late.” He kisses my forehead and walk off to class.

 I watch him walk away from me; I couldn’t help myself from looking at his ass. I turn and walk down the hall to my first hour class. I walk past the bathroom when a hand grabs my arm and pulls me in.

“What the-“ I say.

 “Shhh!” Phoebe shushes me.

 I watch Phoebe look under the bathroom stalls; she locked the bathroom door. She went to turn on the sinks.

“I have a problem, Izzy, and I don’t know want to do. “ Phoebe says.

“Ok, what’s the problem?” I ask.

“I’m late.”

“You’re late?” I look at her clueless.

“I’m late as in late for my monthly friend to come and visit me.” She says.

“Oh.” I say making an o shape with my lips.

 I asked if she had taken a pregnancy test, she hasn’t yet. I told her to skip class while I go to the drug store down the street to get her some pregnancy tests. When I back that she will take the test and we’ll go from there. I sat on the sink waiting for Pheebs to be done peeing on the sticks. She came out and put the test on the sink and I started the three-minute timer. I watch her walk back and forth through the bathroom. It was making me dizzy, I jumped down from the sink.

“Ok, your pacing is making me dizzy. You have exactly two minutes to frack out. Go.” I say.

She sighs, “What if I am pregnant, what will I tell Ace? What will I tell my parents and his parents and even the pack? We are mated and mated but we haven’t handed an official mating ceremony for the pack to recognize us as the next Alpha and Luna. If I’m not pregnant, do I have to tell Ace? Will I feel sad about not being pregnant?”

 I held on to phoebes arms, “Breathe, in and out, good. The timer is done. You can make the chose to look at the test yourself or you can have me look at the test.”

“I’ll look.” She says.

 She walks to the sink and picks up the two tests. I want to ask her what the test results are, but I know she needs a minute. I look at her face as she turns around, she has tears falling from her eyes.

“I’m… I’m pregnant.” She says.

“Are we happy about that?” I ask.

“Yes and no. I’m in shock, and I don’t want to go to be in class today. Can we skip today?” She asks.

“Of course. I know just how to make a bad situation better. Ice cream in bed, with that horrible Twilight movies you love.” She laughs at that, “Then we can stuff our face with a bunch of my expensive chocolate for my secret stash.”

“Yeah.” She pulls me into a tight hug. “I love you, Izzy.”

“Aw, I love you too, Pheebs.”

 We snacked out of the school, we stopped at the store to get our favorite ice creams. Phoebe love mint chocolate chip and regular chocolate ice cream. I love cookies and cream and cookie dough ice cream. We had to snack into my bedroom because if my dad caught us, we would be in so much deep s**t. I sat with Phoebe watching the twilight movie where Bella goes to save Edward for the vampire leaders. I look at the time, I’m supposed to meet Leo in thirty minutes. I look over at Phoebe, she is sound asleep.

 I decide to write her a note; Phoebe went to meet Leo to work on science project. Call me if you need anything, be back at 4.

 I left the note on her phone so she will see it if she wakes up while I’m gone. I made it to the gym just in time for me to change and get the aerial silk down. I was dragging out the mat when Leo came walking in. I got the mat in place, I took my shirt off, so I was in yoga pants and a sports bra. I started stretching while Leo was getting out paper, pen, and textbooks.

 Leo sat on the gym floor by the mat, I did some more stretches started to climb the silk. I did a few tricks, climb up as high as I could. I wrapped the silk under my butt making it like a swing, I started to kick my feet making me swing.

“So, what is the idea for the project?” I ask.

“How does fireworks sound?” He asks.

“We just learned about that, so most of the class is going to do a project on it.”

“That makes scene, how about slime.”

“Mm… too easy.”

“Ok how about the baking cupcakes?” He smiles.

“How is that a chemistry project?” I ask.

“Well it is the reaction of the different cooking ingredients when heat is applied.”

“ That sounds like a plan. Well we have the rest of the week and next week.” I say.

 We take about the project and how we are going to make the experiment. We said that because sugar and baking soda are the main reaction ingredients that we’d make cupcakes with sugar and no baking soda, cupcake with no sugar and with baking soda, cupcake with neither, and cupcake with both.  That is a lot of cupcakes. Me and Leo agree to make the cupcakes a day before the project due date. I leave to get home before it was 4, so Phoebe doesn’t get mad at me.

 I made it to my room just in time to help Phoebe put on her dress she chose for the full moon ceremony tonight. Her dress is a beautiful light blue, I curl her hair and did her makeup. I let her leave to go meet with Ace, she said she wants to wait until her pregnancy is confirmed by a doctor and not a stick she peed on. I took my dress out of the closet, it is a floor length dress the color of darkness. I pin my hair into a messy bun and do light makeup.

 I walk out to the back year where the whole pack except for the kids that haven’t gone through their first shift. I walk on to the stage where my mother, father and Ace. I sat in the chair next to my twin, he grabs my hand and mouth to me are you ok? I nod, Ace knows how painful the full moon is for me. My dad gives me and my brother a hug and gives my mom a light kiss on the cheek, my dad walks to the front of the stage.

“Good evening everyone, tonight is a full moon. On the full moon we are forced to shift into our wolf forms to run with the spirit of the moon goddess when the moon is at its highest point in the sky. Now, we must enjoy the night.” My dad finishes and the people  cheer.

 The people start to socialize, taking, starting the fire, and dancing. Ace and I walk off the stage to meet Phoebe and some other of our friends. I made Phoebe eat something and then forced her to dance with me. I let Ace cut in to dance with Phoebe, I watch them dance as I stand in the back watching everyone in the pack happy waiting for the moon. My dad comes and stands next to me.

“What is the matter, Isabella?” He asks.

“Nothing, I’m just waiting for the moon.” I tell him.

“The moon is about to be at its highest point soon.” He says.

“I know.” I say

 I give my dad a hug and walk behind the stage. I made it just in time, I drop to my knees as pain engulf every muscle, every joint, and bones. I hold back the screams that try to escape from my lips as I feel every bone in my body break and be reform turning me into a wolf. After what feels like forever, I finally shift, and the pain is gone but replaced with exhaustion. My wolf smells something and takes off running.

Jason’s POV

 I went home after football practice, I got me something to eat and waited for my brother to come home before the full moon is up. I watched some tv, but it was insanely boring, so I just went up to my room. I spent the time in my room to work on some homework and read about what I missed while I was in Spain with my brother.

 I got a text from Isabella saying that she wasn’t going to be in class. I was worried so I texted back asking if everything is ok. She texted me that everything was fine, and that Phoebe needs her. The worry for Isabella went away but I had a little bit of worry for Phoebe. Isabella told me that Phoebe has been her best friend since they were young, Isabella is a couple months older than Phoebe. Leo walks into my room and flops down on my bed.

“What’s up, Leo.” I say.

“I’m waiting for the full moon.” He says.

“Same here. I’m bored out of my mind and the full moon is making my skin itch.” I say.

 We decide to spare outside to burn off some steam before the full moon. The full moon finally raised to its highest point forcing me and Leo to shift. We both took off running into the neutral territory, we are so used to being the only wolves in town. Not many wolves are found in Spain and the ones that are there are not exactly open to outsiders.

 Leo bumps into me and talks off like the wind, I run after her. I slam my body into Leo’s knocking him off balance. I laugh and bash off into the night, I hear Leo growl at me and run after me. I run but come to a stop when I see a white wolf playing with the fireflies. Leo runs right into me pushing both of us into the field. The white wolf growls at us but then stops, the white wolf is Isabella.

 Isabella runs to us and she rubs her furry body on us. Her doing this shows that she trust us in this form to be near her. I can’t help the overwhelming feeling of hope it gives me; I lick her snot. Isabella playfully swats at my nose making Leo fall over laughing. Isabella bites Leo’s paw causing Leo to yelp. She backs up and starts to hope around as if to say she wants to play.

 She takes off running into the field, Leo and I both chase after her. Isabella is really hard to catch, she swerves and ducks. After running we lay down in the grassy field, I watch Isabella teach Leo how to catch fireflies and let them fly away. It was funny when Leo eat a firefly the first time, he tried to catch one. Isabella left Leo and came to lay next to me. She played with a bug that was running in the grass, I bite her ear getting her attention. She bites my ear back and lays her head on my paws and close her eyes.

 A little while later Isabella left to get home to the pack, Leo and I left too. Isabella is a fun and spirited woman; she has a playful wolf. She makes me feel happy and free for the first time in a long time. She makes my brother happy; I think I’m falling in love with
