Jason’s POV
Me and my brother, Leo, have been home for a few hours. We got off the plain, stopped at home to sleep after the flight. It’s so weird being home so long after mom died, I stand outside looking out to the woods behind the house. I sit on the porch think of memories of the past.
Flashback
I run away from Leo to hide behind mommy, Leo and I run around our mom until dad comes out and picks us up.
“What are you boys doing.” Dad asks.
“Were playing, Dad.” Leo said.
Dad laughs and lets us down, I run after Leo. Her screams running off into the woods and climbs up a tree.
Flashback over
Leo always loved climbing trees he was like a little spider monkey. Mom always said he was her little ninja because how fast her could move, and she called me her little macho man because I was strong and protective. She would tell us how me and Leo were like glue to each other and were never apart. Everyone thought it was a twin thing, but it was deeper than that.
I see Leo come to sit next to me. He was always the smarter one of us two that left me with the strength. Leo isn’t a scrawny kid he is five feet and eleven inches with mom’s sandy blonde hair. I am six feet with light brown hair like our dad.
“Remembering mom?” Leo asks.
“Yeah.” I say.
“You miss her?” He asks
“Yeah.”
“I do too little bro.” Leo says
I look over to him, “You are a few minutes older than me.”
He punches my arm, “And don’t you forget it. Come on we have to get to the school before we piss him off for being late.”
I fought with Leo over weather we should take his car or my truck. I won so we drove to the school, I remember when our dad would spend hours after school, working on paperwork. He would work on schoolwork and pack work to come home and spend time with me and Leo. I was amazed that he had anytime to sleep at all.
We walk through the halls to the main office. I remember running up and down the halls as a little boy. I remember one time I was playing in the halls when I rand into a little girl with light brown hair. She looked to be the same age as me, she was five or six. She fell over, I thought she was going to cry but she just jumps up and runs off.
We made it to dad’s office and waited in line to take to the women behind the desk, she looked in her 30’s with raven black hair and big round glasses.
“Good afternoon, how can I help you?” She smiles.
“We are here to see our dad, Mr. Wyatt.” Leo says.
“He’s in his office.”
I walk pass Leo and the women to go to dad’s office, I walk in and talk a set at one of the chairs. I look around the office to see his fake plants in the corner because he can never remember to water it before it dies. He changed the photos that were on his desk, he had a picture of all of us, a photo of us with mom, a photo of me and Leo, and one of him and mom.
Now, there is a photo of mom and one photo of me and Leo from a month before mom died. Leo comes and sits next to me after hugging our dad. I put my feet up on the desk, but dad hits my feet pushing them off his desk.
“It’s nice to see you home Leo and Jason.” He says.
“It’s nice to you too, dad.” We say together.
He laughs, “You two have not changed, but that’s not why I asked you here. I wanted you two to come home to take over the pack as the Alphas at the end of your senior year. You two have been enrolled of this year’s school year.”
“You do know we took classes in Spain.” I say.
He sighed “I know, but most of the pack goes to school here and I want you two to find your mates so you can lead the pack. Now, I have assigned a student to help you stay up to date on your schoolwork and Jason you are to try out for the coach to play football.”
We talk a little more, but Leo sees my irritation and makes up some excuse about jet lag. The last class has just let out, so we waited for the halls to clear. When the halls were clear we left the office, we chose to walk back down the slower than normal. I stop in my tracks when I heard music coming from somewhere behind us.
I turn to the sound of the music; it was coming from the gym. I walk to the gym door that was cracked open. I look behind me to see Leo behind me, I open the door more and the sweetest scent of honey or sugar with a mix of something spicy like cinnamon.
I walk in to see a small woman standing on the mat at the base of some kind of rope. My wolf howled saying mate over and over, I look over to see Leo face, but all I see is surprise.
“Mate” He says
“Mate” I say
We look over to the women as the song in the name of love by Martin Garrix and Bebe Rexha. She starts to climb the rope, when she gets halfway, she stops to flip upside down. Then wrapped it around her leg then her waist, over her shoulder and spit the rope to put both her legs through. My heart jumps out of my chest when she leans back and fall back. She held on to the end of the rope stopping herself from hitting the ground.
She climbs back up, wraps the rope around her leg and flips and flips again. She throws the rope over her shoulder to let herself spin around with her legs out, she stops. She wraps the rope around her leg three times then flips upside down holding the rope at the top with her foot and the bottom with her hands. She removes her foot and brings it close to her head like the other one.
She does her first trick again; she land gracefully on the ground on her feet. She held on to the rope walking to one side of the gym floor and she ran to the other side of the gym. She jumped up landing on the bleachers, she tied the rope and walked back down the stairs. She put away the mat, she gabbed her bag and speaker.
She turned around and froze, I sew it in her face that she realized that we were watching her. She turns around and runs out the gym, I want to run after her, but Leo puts his arm out to stop me. I look over at him and then to the door that slammed close.
“So, she is our mate.” Leo says.
“Yeah, I guess to. Her scent was this mix of sweet and spicy.” I say.
“Yeah. What do we do now?” Leo asks.
“I guess we go home and get ready for school tomorrow and to meet our mate” I say.
Leo’s POV
After I watch our mate dance then run off, I know Jason was going to try to run after her. Jason has always been the one to act now and think and ask questions later. I know that it would be a bad idea because we surprised her, and her reaction was to run.
I know that the outcome of me and my brother having the same mate increased because we are twins, but the chances were still very slim to none. When we got home, I told Jason I was going for a run, he knows I run when I need to clear my head. I ran through the woods in wolf form, my wolf is Andy, he is a timber wolf. I let Andy take control, he ran jumping over tree roots and past trees.
He took me to the meadow with the small pond. Andy lead down on the grass.
“What do we do about our mate?” Andy asks.
“Well, she was surprised to see us, so we are going to have to wait for her to come to terms with us being her mate.” Andy says.
“That makes sense because most people meet their mate when they are 15 or 16, so she has been waiting for her mate for a while.” I say.
He huffs “Or she had come to terms that she may never find her mate and it became a shock that she not only had one mate but two.”
I spent the rest of the evening in the meadow as the sun started to set, I decided that it was time to head on home before Jason came looking for me. Which means he’ll mind link me until he get my location or until he finds me. Even though Jason is my younger twin he watches out form me. Jason has always been the strong one, even when mom died, he was there for me when I was too weak. He is always strong and never let it show that he is hurt, I just hope he can be able to over come his need to be strong.
