Forty-Seven Wednesday, December 22 Bailey’s Key Eva and Thomas entered the submarine, and after giving them a few last pointers, Owens sealed the hatch behind them. This was Thomas’s first time in the Denise 2, and he found it to be much more cramped than its predecessor. There were no windows, just a tablet that served as a viewport to the outside world. “You ready?” said Eva. “Ready as I’ll ever be,” Thomas replied.
