Thirty-Three Monday, December 20 Parrot Tree Lagoon Eva heard a familiar voice over her, but a ringing in her head prevented her from making out the words. Cold sand was underneath her. She moved her hands—they were unbound now—and reflexively covered her face, protecting herself from further blows. Then she brought her knees to her chest, ready to kick.
