Chapter 4: Twenty Levels

"You killed it in the same day? That's impressive,"

"Trust me, Lisa... This was the longest day in my life,

It was a long day indeed, they killed a boss, they got a new arsenal, they leveled up and they got something new

Somewhere in the middle of the night Inazuke was not sleeping and reading his abilities and after a short while he looks surprised and shouts

"KEN! Wake up man, something happened"

Ken immediately got scared and jumped from his bed while shouting

"You can take my wife, but not my noodle!"

Inazuke gets super confused about what Ken said

Ken after calming down realized what was happening, Inazuke was just waking him up in the middle of the night,

"It's 3 in the morning, what the hell is your problem?" says Ken

"Sorry, sorry, I didn't think you slept so deeply, my bad"

"I was dreaming of being in a world made of spaghetti, I hope the reason for waking me up is worth that much"

"Look at this"

Inazuke shows Ken his skills menu, It was different than yesterday, it had a new ability

Ability name: Trickster

The user makes himself invisible for 2 seconds and leaves behind an illusion. The illusion can attack, but cannot move, deals half the damage of the user, and can be targeted by everyone. The illusion looks similar to the user.

Cooldown: 13 seconds

"That seems cool I guess"

"To who are you talking?" Says another Inazuke that was behind Ken, and the one in front of him disappears

Ken just thinks while being tired,

"Oh, very nice, now he as double as annoying as before,"

"What are you waiting for? Your turn now, Show me your new skill"

Ken didn't even know he had a new skill, but he still opened his skill menu to see, there was a new skill there too

Ability name: Wind cycling

The user chose a unit to dash to. If it's an enemy, dash behind them and deals 50 attack damage, increasing his attack speed by 15% and "Blade of the unknown origin" damage bonus by 10 for 5 seconds. Applies the passive bonus damage and a stack of "calculated strikes". If it's an ally, dash in front of them and grant them a shield equal to the user attack damage for 5 seconds, while the shield is active they gain 50 movement speed.

This ability has 2 charges. After a takedown, the ability cooldown resets with all the charges and ads another charge for 10 seconds,

Cooldown: 7 seconds ( each charge)

"That was so long! did you read me the tooltip instead of the ability?" Says Inazuke bored

"Nope, that was the ability, want to read the tooltip too?"

"No please"

"Don't worry, instead of the fact that the bonuses stack, there is nothing worth telling,"

Ok, soo let's go test them at the training grounds,"

"Now? you couldn't wait for the morning to do that?"

"NO, we go now" And Inazuke drags Ken outside to the training grounds,"

Even tho Ken didn't like it at first, he trained the whole knight, fighting with Inazuke and making strategies. They trained for the whole duration of the night, until the morning when they were still on the training grounds.

They didn't look tired at all, more like happy, they enjoyed the training session

"I think that was enough," Says Ken

"Yes, now we are ready to go to higher levels areas, don't you think?"

"It doesn't sound bad, let's go to the restaurant, we have to eat breakfast and maybe Lisa has some quest for us"

They went to the restaurant, they eat breakfast and they indeed accepted a quest, it was about killing some white wolves.

"Good luck and be careful, higher levels areas are scary," Says Lisa

They prepare and they go to the quest area once they got there they immediately started to fight the wolves, they didn't let their training go to waste, they killed around 10 wolves, the quest required 30. They fought together 1 - 3 wolves at the same. Until they found a roadblock, and behind them, they were around 15 wolves approaching them slowly,

"They trapped us?" Says Inazuke scared

"Tsk, of course, they will attack back in packs, we were fighting wolves, remember?" Says Ken calmly

The wolves were still approaching now getting closer

"Can't you just use your illusion so we can outrun them?" Says, Ken

" I wish... but I don't have mana"

"Imagine using mana for striking with a stick," Thinks Ken

But his thoughts were interrupted by a notification sound

"A party request? , right now?" Says Ken while being surprised and but still angry about the situation he was in

"We don't have anything to lose, Just accept it"

Ken does that and the moment he accepted the wolves jumps at them to attack

Before getting hurt by the wolves, a big silhouette appears in front of them

He defends them from the first wolf, and while holding his big sword, he starts spinning everywhere and thus defeats all the wolves

The big person stops spinning, he looked like he had nothing about the fact that he spun at high speed,

"Finally, some people in this part of the woods" The big person looked so excited to see Ken and Inazuke, but they just looked confused at what was happening,

"I am Soma, nice to meet you!"

"Don't you "I am Soma" me!" Says Inazuke angry looking at Soma

"Calm down, let's see what is he about," Says, Ken, calmly

"I was wondering if you two know where is the town, I lost it the first time I came here," Says Soma

"We know, but how did you lost, from when are you here?"

"Hmm... let me think, around the last 2 months," Says Soma trying to recall

Inazuke and Ken face just dropped to the floor after hearing such nonsense,

"What holy spaghetti god, did you eat while here?" Ask Ken

"Wolves?" Says Soma confused

"Understandable... have a great day..." Just says, Ken

They all went back to the town

"Thank you for bringing me back to the town," Says Soma

"Don't think about it, you helped us complete the quest, so now we are even," Says Ken

"One more thing, if you know from where I can rent something to stay in, I was staying at some sort of inn, but since I didn't pay for 2 months, they probably gave my room to someone else"

"There are a bunch of inns in the west part of the town" explains Ken

But before he gets to explains all the details to Soma Inazuke approaches Ken

"Ken, can we have a word"

"Uh... Sure, excuse me a minute" Says Ken and goes to Inazuke

"The guy doesn't have where to stay... We have a big house, didn't we? and he seems pretty strong," Says Inazuke

"He is indeed special... but why do you want to take him to our home?" But Ken looks at Inazuke who had a serious face and remembers that Inazuke dream was to form a team,

"I see, I don't have anything against it" Ads Ken

And they get back to Soma

"Welcome back, can you explain to me again where I need to go?" says Soma

"There's no need for that, you will come to our place"

Soma looks a bit confused but he accepts their offer

"To celebrate our new friendship, we shall feast today! on my money of course"

"Nice, I was hungry for spaghetti," Exclaims Ken

"Spaghetti?" Ask Soma confused

"Don't mind him, he eats Spaghetti every day, you will get used to it"

Soma looks a Ken from head to toe and says

"That explains why your arms look like noodles," Says Soma

After a couple of seconds, Inazuke starts laughing as he never did before and thus Soma starts to laugh as well

Ken looks at his arms and his expression changed to the serial killer one we all know by now, While they are not paying attention Ken makes his sword appear, and just says while the others are still laughing

"You have 5 seconds,"

They stop laughing and Soma ask

"Inazuke, what does he mean?"

But when he looked near him, Inazuke was already running with all his speed. Inazuke looks at Ken that was just staring into his soul

"Oh... I think I get it" And very scared he starts running as well with all his speed

After a wild chase, they enter the restaurant, Soma and Inazuke enters first being scratched and full of bandages, and then after them, enters Ken,

Lisa rush to them

"Welcome back, with what I can serve...you..." she can't end her sentence because she sees Inazuke and Soma,

"Are you guys ok?" ask Lisa worried

"We were overwhelmed by the wolves, but I saved them, right guys?" And Ken looks at them intimidating,

"Yes, yes," Says both of them being scared again,

Lisa was just standing there a little angry since he knew Ken lied to her

They again go to a table and enjoy a warm meal

While they were eating they talked to Soma, they found out his past, his abilities, and his future plans

It turned out that Soma was a circus member because of his passive, but he got bored and started to explore the world and doing quests

Passive name: Clear mind

Non-combat passive

"The user can't get dizzy, every instance of getting dizzy makes the user angrier"

Cooldown: always active

Skill Name: Determination

"The user gains a bonus of 30% movement speed towards enemies for 5 seconds. It can be cast during "spin".

Cooldown: 10 seconds

Skill Name: Spin

"The user starts spinning his weapon around him for 7 seconds. It deals physical damage around him based on 50% of the user attack damage"

Cooldown: 20 seconds

"Those are so easy to understand, they don't even have tooltips," Says Inazuke "Not like someone I know" Ads Inazuke looking at Ken

Ken was looking quite proud of himself

They eat all the food and they go to their "base" as Inazuke describe it

All three of them stay in the living room and relaxing. Inazuke was reading manga, Soma was cleaning his armor and sword, while Ken was meditating

Soma looks at both of them and thinks

"They are so different, yet so similar, they make a great team, NO, WE MAKE A GREAT TEAM! I will try my best to make team..., team..." Soma doesn't know the name of the team so asks:

"Can I have a question?"

"Sure, Go on," Said both of them while still doing their activities

"Do we have a team name"

Inazuke close the manga he was reading and starts thinking

"Now that I think of it... we do not, any idea?" And looks at Ken that was still meditating

"Are you sure you want to ask me?" Says Ken

Inazuke thinks a bit and starts imagining all the names that are related to pasta.

"It should be something that we all have in common!" Say, Soma

Inazuke starts thinking because Ken was still meditating

"maybe we should relate to how we got our abilities, for example, I got my first ability at level 20, while..." Soma gets intrerupted

"Did you say level 20? I got my second ability there" Says Inazuke

"My passive just got upgraded at that level" Ads Ken

"Uf, they are so different, maybe we can relate to something else," says Soma quite disappointed

Then Inazuke slams his fist to the table he had in front of him and shouts

"TWENTY LEVELS SCALING!"
