Chapter 4: A Senior Year of Creativity
Laura's senior year of high school was a time of intense creativity and self-expression. She poured her heart and soul into her writing and art, using the inspiration from her summer travels to fuel her projects.
She started a literary magazine at school, showcasing the work of her peers and local writers. She wrote poetry and short stories, experimenting with different styles and forms. She even started a blog, sharing her thoughts on art, life, and everything in between.
Mirabel and Josh were her biggest supporters, attending every school event and offering constructive feedback on her work. They saw the dedication and passion in their daughter and knew she was on the right path.
Laura's art teacher, Mrs. Jenkins, became a mentor and friend, guiding her through the college application process and introducing her to the world of art therapy. Laura discovered a new passion for helping others through art and began volunteering at a local youth center, teaching creative writing and art classes to underprivileged kids.
As college acceptance letters started rolling in, Laura was faced with a difficult decision: follow her heart to a small liberal arts college with a strong creative writing program or pursue a more practical path at a larger university. She knew her parents would support her either way, but she wanted to make the right choice for herself.
