Chapter 33: A Step Back
After Blake spent a few moments keeping Matthew's knife shoved in his face, she forcibly pulled it out before dropping his dead body onto the asphalt below them. She was huffing and puffing profusely, and she looked as though she had expended much of her stamina in that fight. She took one good look at the atmosphere around her, and the first thing she noticed was how the overall feel of the place had changed. The remaining goons on West Warren Road were staring at her, and even though their masks hid their expressions, it was obvious that they were in shock regarding what they had just seen. Their superior was murdered in cold blood, and although they could have easily assisted him by overpowering her by sheer numbers alone... ...that did not happen. They merely stood still, acting like
