CHAPTER FOUR: The devils interest

I paced around the mansion, waiting for my bodyguards to come and get me from the Kingdom of Valerine. The rushing sound of cars entering the estate made me get up immediately and rush through the doors. Lucas, my chief bodyguard, looked at me with relief written all over his face. I knew I had made them worried. I wondered how my dad was feeling back at home. We got into the car and drove off, heading to City B. In the car, Amara couldn't get the thought of the man from last night out of her head. Amara had forgotten the tales that were as old as time—an ancient species whose name existed only in fairy tales. They roamed the modern world with brute strength and mesmerizing beauty. The vampires reigned supreme. They were praised as the most elite of races. Vampires occupied daunting positions, from royal chambers and government offices to large corporate businesses. Amara sighed deeply, leaning back in her seat. The thought of not knowing whether Calhoun was human or vampire disturbed her. But there was one thing she was certain of. If he lived in the Kingdom of Valerine, then he was definitely a vampire. Lucas glanced at Amara through the rearview mirror, noticing how she kept zoning out and sighing deeply. Soon, they arrived at the Brandon mansion. Amara got out of the car without waiting a second and hurried up the stairs leading to the entrance. She rushed inside and headed straight for her father's room. Mr. Brandon moved slightly on his bed as he faced his gorgeous princess, as he always called her. Amara grinned and exhaled, not realizing she had been holding her breath. "Dad, I'm so happy to see you!" She jumped into his arms and hugged him tightly. "I thought, for once, that I'd never get to see you again." Amara smiled as she stared at her father. Mr. Brandon smiled softly at his daughter. He knew what she was going through at the moment. When he heard that her fiancé had been cheating on her for the past two years, he knew she wouldn't be able to take the news well. "Hey, it's okay, my gorgeous princess," he said, rubbing her cheek softly. "And who gave you that nasty idea of not seeing me again?" Amara chuckled. She loved her dad, even though he had been bedridden for months now. He never stopped making her smile. Amara stayed with her father for a while before heading into her room to take a shower. She stood beneath the cold water as thoughts of the previous night came rolling in. She could feel how wet she was just from thinking about it. She moves her hand down to her throbbing p***y, rubbing her fingers against it slowly. She close her eyes and the thought of Calhoun's tongue sucking and eating her p***y made her to orgasm. Amara exhaled slowly as her body relax. After washing up, she dried herself with a bath towel and picked up her phone from the bed. As she scrolled through it, she remembered she had just returned, so there was no need to head to the office immediately. She wanted to rest, knowing fully well that her secretary could handle everything in her absence. After finishing her skincare routine, she looked out the window as sunlight poured into her room. "I'll take a quick nap," she thought before climbing into her king-sized bed. She closed her eyes, drifting into her own fantasies. Calhoun arrived in City B for a series of business meetings. His secretary sat beside him, going over the details. "Mr. Brandon's personal assistant is here. They're still asking if we can partner with them for the new project," Riftan said as he continued typing on his tablet. Calhoun's jaw tightened. He didn't want anything to do with their new projects. It seemed the old man didn't know when to stop. Even after becoming bedridden, he still refused to let go of business matters. Calhoun scoffed in disgust at the thought. "Actually, sir, it's his daughter who is still insisting on having this meeting with you," Riftan added. "Dismiss them. I don't have anything to do with them," Calhoun ordered. "Yes, sir," Riftan replied. Calhoun ran a hand through his hair as the day dragged on. By the time he entered his office and took his seat, Riftan was still briefing him on his schedule. Riftan suddenly placed the tablet on the desk. "Sir, the woman you told me to look into... all the information is right here." Calhoun picked up the tablet and began reading. "She is the only child of Phil Brandon and the heiress to Brandon Corporation," Riftan added. At last, something caught Calhoun's interest. A smirk tugged at his lips. "Schedule a meeting with them tomorrow afternoon." "Yes, sir." Calhoun leaned back in his chair. "It seems you can't run away from me, Little Dove," he murmured with a devious smile.
