“Well, you are a fortunate animal. You have such luxurious fur that it hides their absence splendidly.”
Oscar made the necessary introductions.
“A delight, my dear,” Bradel said, stepping aside so they might enter his home. “You are both most welcome, though I think you’ll find it’s rather less cluttered than you might remember it being.”
Oscar was pleased to see the apartment tidy, with no contents strewn across the floor prior to being emptied onto the pavement via the kitchen window. He admired the dog’s decision to remain where he was, rather than seek a residence more befitting his new-found fame and fortune.
“Your timing is most auspicious,” said Bradel, “for there is an animal here I wish you to meet.”
