AN OMEGA WOLF’s FATE. Tahira’s POV. “Poor Tahira, Father had to sell the family’s heirloom just because of you. Too bad, too bad.” Twyla said and wiped the tears from her cheeks. “Heirloom? Why? Why didn’t you stop him? I am sure you had the ring! You took it from the king again didn’t you?” I fired at her. “Yes, yes and so what? No one is coming after me. You little thief.” Twyla scorned. “It is okay to frame me! It is okay to use me as a scapegoat. It’s okay to hurl abusive and degrading words at me, but it is not! Okay to make me look like a thief in front of Father.” I screamed at her. “But what can I do? I need a new ring to add to my collection.” Twyla said, clearly not regretting her action. “Goodnight little thief, it is time for my beauty sleep. I need to go to bed early and wake up early as tomorrow is my birthday.” She added and walked to her room. A drop of tears fell from my eyes. Tomorrow would mark twelve years of me suffering at the hands of Twyla. Ever since I turned six, I stopped getting excited about my birthday as Twyla always stole the show. She would come out looking so pretty and all the attention goes to her, while I was ignored and pushed aside like I was some piece of trash. I walked to my room and lay down on my bed. My eyes stare at the ceiling, thinking about everything that I have suffered in her hands. Twyla was not the typical virtuous daughter. She is a thief and a very evil person who stops at nothing to get what she wants. She is like a tornado that crushes everything in its path. She has always been this greedy ever since we were kids, back then I tended to overlook her since she was a child and I was older. I tried to shower her with all the love I had, but she rejected me and scorned me. As we became older, I got the message loud and clear. As a result, I steered clear of her and minded my business. But even that was not enough for Twyla, she started stealing things and blaming them on me, then she would look for trouble and I would be turned into her scapegoat. I never really cared about her actions cause I felt it was just sibling rivalry and I felt she would stop with time. But now, I am sure it is no longer sibling rivalry, this was hatred, pure jealousy, and evil intentions. I closed my eyes and focused on my breathing, trying to get rid of those thoughts. I was determined to prove myself innocent before my father, but I had no idea why. While still racking my brain, I got thirsty. I reached for the jug of water kept on the coffee table in the room, but I dropped it on second thought. “Twyla might have tampered with the water.” A voice in my head said. Rising to my feet, I opened the door to my room and headed to the kitchen to get water. As I walked to the kitchen, I poured myself a glass of water and drank it all at once. “This is odd. The house is unusually quiet.”The voice in my head said. I grew suspicious and began to snoop around, but I found nothing. Deciding to attend to more pressing issues, I sat on the couch thinking of how to prove my innocence in front of my father and the whole pack. I had to regain my father’s identity and pride in the pack. I could not stand by and watch my father get humiliated. I knew how hard it is to be insulted daily and I do not want my father to go through that. Even though he hates me right now, I hoped to gain his love and trust back. I thought of several ways to prove Twyla was the thief and how to get concrete evidence to back up my claims. But the muffled voices coming from my father’s room only distracted me. “Who is Father talking to and that too at this hour?” I muttered and rose to my feet. I slowly crept to the door to my father’s room, but I could not make out who the voice belonged to or what it was saying. I pressed my ears on the door, trying to eavesdrop on my dad’s conversation but it was impossible to hear a thing. Frustrated, I decided to ignore that and work on proving my innocence. But I was unable to concentrate, I could not help but feel that something was wrong, or was about to go wrong. The air was thick with tension and it was palpable. “Try standing behind his window, you should be able to figure out who your father is talking to so late at night and also what they are talking about.” A voice in my head suggested and I immediately accepted. I slowly crept to the front door and carefully opened it. Luckily for me, the door did not make a creaking sound. I walked to my father’s window and was shocked to see Twyla in his room. “What is Twyla doing in father’s room so late at night? Is she trying to steal from her father? No that can not be possible I heard father’s voice, which means he is inside the room with her. But what were they talking about? “We can do it Father, she has brought shame to our family. And lately, she has been acting weird, I think we should just go ahead and do it. We will come of age tomorrow and he is visiting the pack tomorrow. I think this is the one chance we will ever get.” Twyla said. “What were they talking about and who was this he?”
