21 BACK INTO A FOLD Jessica and Trooper meandered back toward the house shortly after the portal closed. “Nobody will believe us,” Trooper said when the pair was more than halfway to the house. “Believe us about what?” Jessica said absentmindedly. “Wizards, nymphs, and green faeries. All of it,” Trooper said. “Does it matter if we’re believed or not?” Jessica said. “How would somebody else know?
