Chapter 14-The Aftermath

It's been 2 days since the we revealed everything to Amy, she has barely left her room except to eat. We've tried to talk to her but she shuts us out , mom and dad are coming in tonight maybe mom can get her to talk. "I'm going to the store" I told Lori, she was sitting at the kitchen table going over the menues for Christmas eve and Christmas day dinner.

"Okay" she said, "oh pick up some nutmeg and rum" she told me.

"I'm guessing mom's making her famous eggnog" I chuckled as I left the kitchen.

"You know it" she chuckled back.

I walked out the front door and walked to my car, I got in and started the engine. I backed out of the driveway and headed into town to go to the grocery store, half way to the store my engine stalled. I was able to pull over to the side of the road, I grabbed my purse and started looking for my phone but came up empty, I must have left it on the charger. "Great" I threw my head back against the headrest, I was about 10 blocks to the store and about 2 miles back to the house. Looks like I'm walking, I take the keys out of the ignition and grabbed my purse and got out of the car locking it up. It was 4 degrees out but it felt a lot colder, I stopped inside a cafe' to use their phone. I thought about calling Lori but one of us had to stay home with Amy,  I ended up calling Frank. He said he'd be here in 10 minutes, I got myself a vanilla latte and waited.

I was working out in the gym when my phone went off, I took my gloves off and answered the phone. "Hello?" I answered the phone confused and breathless.

"Frank" I heard my beautiful mate's voice on the other end of the phone, "I need you to come pick me up" she told me.

"Where's  your car?" I asked but already guessing the answer.

"It stalled"  she responded, "and don't even try saying anything" she remarked.

"Where are you?" I asked her and she told me the name of the cafe' she was at. "I'll be there in 10 minutes" I told her then went to get changed. I called Tony Marino on my way to the cafe', Tony is the town's only mechanic and one of my packs strongest warriors. I told him about Emily's car and where to look for it, he told me he would take his truck out and get it and take it back to his shop. I pulled up outside the cafe' and walked inside, I spotted Emily sitting at a table nursing a cup. I walked over to the table and sat down across from her.

"Don't say it" she glared at me.

"Not going to say anything" I threw my hands up in surrender, she furrowed her brow.

"So you're not going to say I told you so" she glared at me.

"Nope" I told her. "I called Tony, he's towing your car to his shop" I told her.

"You didn't have to do that" she said holding her cup.

"I wanted to" I reached out and took her hand. "Where's your phone?" I asked her.

"I think I left it on the charger" she said sheepishly, I shook my head and lightly chuckled.

"Come on" I stood up and held my hand out to her, "I'll take you where you were going" I told her, she looked up at me then took my hand.

"Gene's grocery store" she stood up and we walked out.

After the grocery store I took Emily home, after dropping her off I went to Tony's shop to check on her car. "So what's the diagnosis" I asked Tony as I walk into the shop.

"The engine is no good" he told me.

"Can you rebuild it?" I asked him.

"There's no point, we would have to replace too many pieces" he told me. "It needs a new engine period" he said. "You'd be better off buying her a new car" he grinned.

"That would be a miracle" I shook my head and chuckled. "I'll talk to her" I told him.

"Hey how's Amy doing?" he  asked as I headed to the door.

"She's having a hard time coping with the whole werewolf thing" I told him.

"Let me know if I can do anything to help" he told me.

"I will"  I said and walked out.

"I don't know, maybe Frank's right" I said as I take the chicken out of the oven.

"About what?" Lori asks as she pulls plates out of the cabinet.

"Maybe it's time for a new car" I said putting the chicken on a serving platter.

"Really?" Lori sounded shocked. "I thought you'd be driving that hunk of junk until you're dying breath" she teased me.

"Shut up and set the table" I scolded her, she chuckled at me then went to set the dinning room table. I finished making dinner and took it into the dinning room, the front door opened just as I was going to go upstairs to get Amy. My parents walked in with Frank in tow, "Just in time" I said hugging my mom then my dad. "I just put dinner on the table" I told them.

"Wonderful" my mom said.

"I'll take these up to our room" my dad said taking their bags.

"I'll help you" Frank said helping him take the bags upstairs.

"Tell Amy dinner's done while you're up there" I told them then walked into the dinning room with my mom.

"Mom" Lori shrieked as she walked out of the kitchen with the basket of dinner rolls and a bottle of wine, she put the basket and bottle on the table then hugged my mom.

"everything looks so good" my mom said looking at the table. 

"Emily is a good cook" Lori said and I blushed. My dad, Amy and Frank finally came down and joined us in the dinning room. After dinner Frank and Lori cleaned up, my mom, dad and I went into the living room with Amy.

"How are you feeling sweetie?" my mom asks Amy.

"Depends" Amy replies.

"On what?" my dad asks.

"Well" she sits back in her chair, "pregnancy wise I'm fine, but the whole werewolf thing I'm still trying to wrap my head around" she told us.

"Just give yourself some time" dad told her. "It took me a couple weeks to fully understand it myself" he told her.

"There's just so many questions that I need answers to" she said.

"Any question you have we will gladly answer" Frank said walking into the living room with Lori.

"Any question?" she asked.

"Any question" he told her.

"Good cause I have a lot of questions" she told him.

"When ever you're ready to ask we will give you answers" he said.

"Okay" she responded.

We sat in the living room for a few hours just talking and catching up with mom and dad, Amy eventually went to bed followed by mom and dad. Lori, Frank and I were sitting on the couch watching Netflix when Frank's phone rang, "Hello" he said answering the phone. "When? Where?" he said aggressively. "Yeah, I'll be right there" he said then hung up the phone.

"What is it?" I asked him as he got up off the couch.

"My father received information about the witch that's helping Lukas" he said. "I have to go" he leaned down and kissed me. "I'll text you later" he said then headed out the door.

"Good maybe now we'll get some answers" Lori said. 

"We're not going to get answers until they catch Lukas" I told her.

"I know, but now they have a lead on the witch so we're closer to getting him" she insisted.

"We'll see" I said then I got up and went upstairs to bed.

I walked into my dad's office, my father was sitting at his desk. Alpha Raymond, Alpha Thomas and Alpha Victoria were sitting in front of his desk, Fred was sitting on the couch with Johnny and Tony Adamo. I nodded respectfully to my father and the other Alphas then took a seat on the arm of the couch.

"Good now that we're all here let us begin" my father stated. "Alpha Victoria if you please" he gestured to the female Alpha, Alpha Victoria is a fierce Alpha. She was the only child of her father Alpha Marcus of the Coal Creek Pack. She's a beautiful woman standing at 5'6, she has black wavy hair that flows half way down her back and grey/blue eyes that blend beautifully with her gold toned skin.

"Thank you Alpha Vincent" she stood up and turned to face everyone. "I have received information from the coven leader in my territory about a rogue witch helping a rogue wolf" she informed us. "The rogue witch was expelled from a coven in the Rocky Creek territory she said handing my father a file folder.

"What does Alpha Henry have to say about this" my father asked.

"He is working with the coven leader to help track down were they could be hiding out" she said.

"Good" my father said.

"Do you know the reasons behind her expulsion?" I asked Alpha Victoria.

"Apparently she tried to spell  and poison the wolf pack" she looked at me.

"Explain tried" my father told her.

"One of her fellow coven members found out what she was planning and went to the coven leader who informed Alpha Henry" she said to my father. "They then ambushed her and put her on trial and expelled her limiting her powers" she said.

"I will communicate further with Alpha Henry" my father stood up. "Alphas thank you for coming and we will continue to keep updates with each other" my father shook the hands of the Alphas as they left.

"I need to head back to the station, I'm pulling double shifts" Johnny said getting up.

"I should head out too, I'm running the restaurant for Emily tomorrow" Tony said getting up.

"Why is the restaurant open tomorrow?" I ask him.

"Emily likes to have it open on Christmas eve and Christmas day just in case someone needs a place to eat" Tony said.

"That sounds like her" I smiled.

"You're a lucky wolf" he patted me on my shoulder.

"That I am" I smiled.
