"This is unacceptable" I heard Lori yelling on the phone, "you had 3 weeks to find this guy" she said irritated. "You have hid DNA right! How is it that you can't find him?" she was mad, the cops can't find anything on the guy that attacked Amy. They ran his DNA but there were no matches, no name, no picture nothing, Lori finally hung up the phone and screamed. "Incompetent idiots" she yells tossing her phone on the coffee table then slamming herself on the couch.
I look at her "You know yelling at them isn't going to help" I took a sip of my coffee.
"It helps me" she smiled. "Have you talked to mom or dad?" she asks looking at me.
"I talked to mom this morning" I told her, "she said that they will be arriving Tuesday afternoon" I informed her.
"Did she say how Amy's doing?" she asked hesitantly.
"She said that she's finally talking about it and she's feeling more comfortable around people" I told her. "She's not sure if she's ready to go back to school yet though" I said.
"I don't blame her" Lori said sinking into the couch. "Have you made the list for Thanksgiving yet?" she looks at me.
"Yes I did" I hand her a long piece of paper with a very long list on it.
"Okay" she sighed, "we can go tomorrow and get everything" she handed the list back to me, I nod in agreement and put the list on the coffee table. We just sat there on the couch for the rest of the evening watching our shows and then the news, I finally went to bed at 11:30 pm. I'm not sure if Lori ever went to bed, she hasn't been sleeping much lately. Maybe having Amy home will help her settle down a bit, I hope.

"Don't tell her I'm coming" I told Fred over the phone.
"Why not?" he asked me.
"I don't want her to know I'm there" I told him, "I'm coming to help with the search and that's it" I sternly told him.
"Dude......." he started to say but I interrupted.
"NO" I cut him off, "I don't want to see her" I hissed at him.
"Fine, but if she finds out you were here and didn't let her know she'll be pissed" he said.
"I'll take that risk" I told him, "I just can't face her until we get that s.o.b" I told him with a sigh.
"This isn't your fault" he sighed.
"I feel like it is" I sighed.
"Everything will be okay, we'll find him" he promised. "I'll see you tomorrow" he said before hanging up.
I tossed my phone on my bed next to me, I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair. I looked at my duffle bag then looked at the picture frame on my dresser, I got up and walked over to my dresser. I rubbed my finger over Emily's image, "I'll catch him I promise" I said looking at Emily's face in the picture. I turned around and picked up my phone then grabbed my bag and walked out the door. There was a cab waiting for me outside, I got in the cab and drove to the airport. When I got to the airport I checked in and waited to board, sitting there in the terminal I saw families waiting to board with kids and students were going for the holiday. I took out my phone and clicked on the photo gallery and flipped through some photos until i came across some photos of Emily. I stared at her pictures remembering when I took them, it was only over a year ago that we were both here in Boston together, she was in the business department and I'm in the medical department of Harvard. We were able to see each other a lot, especially in the library. She was the best study buddy, I told her she should have studied medicine instead of business. She told me that she didn't have the patience for medical school and she took business so she could help her dad. She's always put her family before anything else and that's one of the things I love about her.
"Flight 342 to New York now boarding" a woman's voice said over the intercom. I turned off my phone then put it in my pocket, I got up and walked to the attendant showing her my ticket then walked through the terminal entrance towards the plane. I entered the plane and quickly took my seat, I decided to close my eyes and rest the whole plane ride home. As soon as the plane landed I went and grabbed my bag then went outside and grabbed a cab to the train station. I jumped on a train to Elizabeth then grabbed a cab to Haddonfield, the cab pulled up in front of my parent's house. I paid the cab driver then fished out my house keys, I entered the house and it was silent. I made my way upstairs to my room, I walked down the hallway passing my parent's room then threw my bag into my room. I walked down to the second floor and made my way to my dad's office, I noticed a light shining under the door. I lightly knock on the door, I heard footsteps and then the knob turned and the door opened.
"Frank?" my dad sounded surprised, "you're here" he hugged me.
"Hello dad" I hugged him back.
"I thought you weren't going to be here until tomorrow" he stepped aside so I could enter his office.
"Well technically it is tomorrow" I point to the clock on his wall as I sat down on the couch.
"So it is" he looked at the clock to see that it's 2:30 am, he walked over to his desk and sat down.
"So why are you still up?' I ask him.
"I've been going over the police reports that Johnny sent over" he told me.
"Anything stick out?" I ask him.
"Well we had the trackers go to the attack site but there were too many scents because it's a high traffic area, we couldn't distinguish between them" he said disappointedly. I sigh and lower my head, I intertwined my hands behind my head and support my elbows on my knees. "I'm sorry son, we'll keep searching" he told me.
"I just want to make Amy and Emily feel safe and happy" I looked up at him, "I can't be with Emily if I can't keep her and her family safe" I told him.
"We'll find him and then you can tell Emily everything" he told me.
"I hope you're right dad" I said as I got up off the couch, "good night" I said then walked out of the office and headed back up to my room. I walked into my room and climbed into bed, I laid there for a while before sleep took over.
