The Spy
Inside a dark apartment, dozens of security camera feeds filled a wall of monitors.
A hooded figure leaned back in a chair, watching Evans and Ami through the hidden camera inside the mansion.
"So..."
"They're getting closer."
The figure picked up a phone.
"Bring Vanessa."
Minutes later, Vanessa entered the room.
"You called?"
The hooded figure nodded.
"The kidnapping failed."
Vanessa folded her arms.
"I noticed."
"It's time for the next phase."
A photograph of Evans and Ami appeared on the largest monitor.
"I want them to stop trusting each other."
Vanessa smiled knowingly.
"I already have an idea."
The next morning, Ami received an envelope with no sender's name.
Inside were several photographs.
She froze.
The pictures showed Evans embracing Vanessa.
Another showed them leaving a hotel together.
A final photo carried a handwritten note.
He never loved you. You're only replacing the woman he truly wanted.
Ami's hands trembled.
She knew her marriage to Evans was fake.
But the images still hurt more than she expected.
Just then, Evans walked into the room.
He immediately noticed the photographs scattered across the floor.
His expression darkened.
"Where did you get these?"
"They were delivered this morning."
He picked one up.
Then, without warning, he tore it in half.
"They're old."
"What?"
"They were taken years ago."
Ami looked into his eyes.
For the first time...
She believed him.
But hidden outside the mansion gates, Vanessa watched the exchange through binoculars.
She frowned.
"Why didn't they fight?"
Her plan had failed.
And that made her even more dangerous.
