**Elena’s POV** I sat in the chair beside my bed, my knees pulled close to my chest, staring at the wall as Lucia’s voice kept echoing in my mind. Something about the way she spoke didn’t sit right. I could tell she was hiding something, I felt it in the way her words trailed off, like she was afraid I’d catch on. But what could she be hiding? Things haven't been the same between us for some time; something was clearly wrong.
