Emilia’s POV I don’t know if it was me or if the room was suddenly too suffocating to be in. Dante stared at his father as if they shared a secret, and then I knew they did. Adrian Voss was not a man of many words. He had always been the type to let his actions speak for him, and ever since the burial, so much had been going through my mind. Maybe he married me for vengeance or out of pity, but the victorious grin on his lips couldn’t be for either of those reasons. He looked almost calm, while Dante looked like a ghost of himself.
