Chapter 6

Yve de Paula Eva would kill me if the heel of her shoe was blown off on this asphalt. I needed to find a safe place to call an app driver, or for a cab to come by. I was walking down the sidewalk and heard footsteps behind me. "Paula, wait!" The misogynist creep's voice echoed in the deserted street "I'm taking you home. I kept walking and replied. "You don't have to." "f**k if you're angry! I don't want your face blown up, printed in the Popular newspaper, saying that I was the last one to be with you. It's dangerous to walk around here alone." "It's dangerous walking with you." I replied quickly as he continued to walk beside me. Without a shred of shame on his face, Arthur Ribeiro emitted a sound of laughter. "The only danger you run with me is of cumming and howling like a bitch." "Get out of here, you filth!" He laughed even harder. "Get in your stupid car and leave me alone." He kept talking, for he was a brazen man. "But it's only worth it if you want to, I'm not the type to r**e women." "Worse than that, I believe most of them should be a rug for you to walk on." At that moment, he wiped the mocking laughter off his face and stopped walking, grabbing my waist. The simple movement made me apprehensive. I didn't like it. Every time Arthur Ribeiro put his hands on me, a treacherous electric current ran through my body. "Come on, I'll leave you safe at the door." I spent a few seconds trying to free myself from that feeling, with him staring at my face. I accepted it, it was better to get it over with once and for all. We walked back towards the car. I got in the hitchhiker's seat and Arthur got in the driver's seat. I drove him to some building in Copacabana and indicated it as my home. Finally, I managed to get rid of him, got out of the car and Arthur drove off. In front of the building, just after I saw the man's vehicle disappear from my field of vision. I took my cell phone out of my bag and called the app driver. Thank God I could finally go home. (...) I arrived exhausted, I needed a shower, a kiss with Jader and to lie down on my bed. As soon as she heard the door open, Eva came out of her room with a furious expression. "Who allowed you to wear my shoes? You know I don't like people going through my things..." My sister was talking non-stop. I let her shout to herself to see if she'd shut up soon. The problem was that Eva had always liked trouble. "Jader's been sick all day, I need to go into the bedroom. If you wake him up with your hysteria for a futile reason, the floor will shake," I warned her. "Now you're worried about Jader? Yve, you're a legend." That was her way of calling me a hypocrite. "He spent the whole day on the street, came and went. Apparently, you spent the money we don't have on the beauty salon." "Eva, I don't owe you any satisfaction." I took off my shoes and handed them to her. "Your shoes haven't suffered at all, even though I wear rubber boots all day at work, I don't have any foot odor," I joked. Eva was the type to play crazy. She knew very well that our father's pension alone couldn't support this house and that, at 25, she should get a job. Whenever I could, I told her that I was helping to support the family, while she was just sucking up. "Mom's got it bad this time, the jumpsuit is identical to the one in Botswana." Knowing where our conversation was going, she changed the subject, trying to stop me. "She's going to have to make one just like it for me." "Do you like it?" I pulled the garment off my body, rolling it down my leg. "Here, it's yours. You can rent it for the shoes." "Wait, it's from Botswana! How did you buy it if it costs almost half your salary and you did your hair?" As soon as she saw the designer label, she asked. "Bye, sweet sister! I'm going to shower and go to bed. Saturday's off, but it's cleaning day at home, so I need to rest. I went into the bathroom and left her thinking about how I managed to get money for the things she wanted so much. (...) Arthur Ribeiro The laughter was loud. f**k! Sunday morning, I didn't want to wake up until nine. A more than necessary right for someone who was single and lived alone. At least that was my utopia. I got up, put on some shorts and went into the living room to see what was going on. I didn't know why I was still surprised... my mother was in the living room with a couple of friends, dressed in bathing suits, drinking gin at that time of the morning. Little King, you're awake! Let me introduce you." She came up to me, slapped me on the mouth and took me by the hand, leading me to the people she was with. "This is Lino Bloch and this is his wife, Vânia Bloch." That surname immediately alerted me. "Are you the owners of Club Atroz?" I asked as I shook the man's hand and kissed the lady's cheek. "Yes." The crown replied, smiling. "I've never seen you there, my dear. I'd love to see you at the club." "That's not good for me, I'm more of a two-man band and between four walls." The Blochs were an aristocratic family from Rio de Janeiro. They had several entertainment businesses throughout the country. However, the part of the family in my living room was known for owning the most famous swing house in Barra da Tijuca. I couldn't imagine how my mother knew them. The thought made my stomach turn. "Marlene told me that you're a bit narrow-minded and conservative." His wife, who had such taut skin, making it look like she was smiling all the time, spoke up. "Oh, she did!" I looked at her at the same moment. Shamelessly, she tried to disguise it, taking the glass of gin in one gulp. "I'm not conservative, I just think that three and up is too much, and two is perfect." "Conservative and grumpy. " Vânia confirmed. "Oh, love! Don't talk to our host like that." "f*****g host! I didn't invite anyone." I thought. "It's all right, Lino! The little king doesn't care." I wanted to reply: Yes, I do, Mom. However, they were going to the beach and I would soon be going back to sleep. "Have a good beach!" I tried to speed up the process. "Beach, little King? And not go diving, with the beautiful view of Leblon? Of course not! We'll use the transparent pool on the balcony, here on the roof." I loved my mother, but there were times when all I wanted was a normal one who wanted to cook Sunday lunch. Better than getting angry and being rude, I'd run along the beach and that's exactly what I did. I left the clueless girl and her guests and went to enjoy the beautiful morning they were offering me. (...) I love this typical day in Rio. A sun that covered the skin, like a blowtorch, blue sky and sea, crystal-clear sandy beach and lots of beautiful women. On my headphones, playing good music that kept me moving quickly along the promenade, a squeeze bottle with cold water to hydrate me. My sunscreen was natural and called melanin. As I ran, under my glasses, I saw the sculptural wonders this place had to offer. Lots of hot women! They also looked at me, some discreetly and others because they were naughtier than me. Our conscious sometimes acted on its own. This was one of the times that mine took on a life of its own. Without realizing it, I ended up walking to Copacabana. The next thing I knew, I was in front of her building and I thought about asking the doorman to press Paula's intercom, but how ridiculous would that be? Unfortunately, we men, when we received a no from a woman, it only increased our animal instinct to want her at any cost. And women like her knew this and took advantage of it. They knew how to arouse men like me. I liked it and accepted it, but as soon as I'd rammed my c**k all the way in and the old man had emptied himself inside her, this woman would be just another name to fill my diary. I hesitated, I couldn't wait to rip Paula in half, but I couldn't look like a stalker, showing up at her building uninvited. I went home, everything had its time. I'd call Claudia as soon as I'd kicked my mother and her guests out of my home. Ending my Sunday with her was the best thing I had for today.
