Dean made the tires of Allie's van screech in front of Kathy's house. He almost forgot to turn the engine off as he and Allie jumped out of the car.A hysterical grandmother ran out of the house with with her hands in the air. She looked into the sky, begging God to help her. Some of the neighbors stood in the driveway, calling the police. Others shouted the twins' names down the street. "Do you know if they took anything with them?" Allie addressed Kathy. "No. Their backpacks are still in their bedroom," Kathy cried. Dean ran into the house and barged into every room like a savage animal. He met Allie in the backyard and searched for traces of his sons around the bushes. Then he froze. He had been so focused on finding them that he hadn't stopped to wonder if someone had taken them. "
