The sound of laminate creaking and fabric rubbing didn't make Kathy stop from picking up the gift wrappings from Christmas morning. She smirked, then shoved colorful pieces of paper into a trashbag. As she tightened a knot around the bag's mouth, two hands sneaked around her and covered her eyes."Hmn, these fingers belong to," she paused. "Uncle Matt." "Nope," said Dean. "Sandy from the grocery pick up." "Nope," he giggled. "Oh I know. The handsomest boy in the world." "Yeah, you got it." He moved his hands down and hugged her. Kathy turned around and kissed her son on the cheek. "Pinch me. I can't believe you're here and that you remember everything." "Not everything." "When you called me Mom last night, I thought you did." The corners of Kathy's mouth lowered in disappointment.
