Chapter 7

SAKSHI VARMA “So Ms Varma should we?” The arrogant bastard had the audacity to smirk. He looks handso-no, no he looks ugly, not handsome. Especially not handsome. I frowned and glared at him. Suddenly a thought came to my mind. Men don't like shopping, right? I smirked evilly. “Actually,” I started, batting my eyelashes innocently and asked, “I haven't done my shopping fully. Can we go and shop?”  “Or if you want, you can go back to your work and I'll shop on my own,” I added, thinking that he will go and leave me by myself.  But to my surprise, he started dragging me towards the exit of the cafeteria. I almost tripped but he steadied me.  “No. You want to shop. So we go and shop.” He said confidently and moved ahead as if it's no big deal. I just started at his sexy back in shock. Wait. Did I just say, sexy back? No. It must be a mistake.  SexyBack song of Justin Timberlake suddenly started playing in the background. Whoever keeps this as a ringtone? I'm bringin' sexy back  Them other boys don't know how to act  I think it's special, what's behind your back  So turn around and I'll pick up the slack  Dirty babe You see these shackles, baby  I'm your slave I'll let you whip me if I misbehave It's just that no one makes me feel this way Come here, girl (go 'head, be gone with it) I then realised that the sound was coming from my jeans pocket. Great! That was the only thing left. Everyone is looking at me like I've lost my mind. I fumbled with my phone and quickly cut the call before it could embarrass me further. Who the hell changed my ringtone?!  Then I remembered I had left my phone on the table after calling the cops. Arjun must have changed my ringtone then. That little b***h. When I looked towards him, I saw his body shake in silent laughs and when he saw the murderous look I was given him, he looked at me innocently. But I know better. He did this. I narrowed my eyes at him and asked, "you did this, didn't you?"  He made a fake confused face and said, "I don't know what you're talking about." He shrugged and walked ahead.  I jogged up to his side and glared at him. "Mr Khurana you're dead now. You don't know what you have started." I warned him and he just smirked and said, "bring it on baby." HOT. That was hot af. You're having fun at this, aren't you? Very. Go die. Con. Can't. I am you. If you die then only I die. And quit calling me Con. No can do, Con. “Sakshi” I heard him calling me. “You're coming?” He asked and I just frowned and followed him like a lost puppy. He is more excited to shop than me. I groaned. I don't want to shop. God. Save me. After two hours and 30 shops, I gave up. I can't with this man. What the heck is he made of? He is holding all the shopping bags and still hasn't broken a sweat. And on the other side, I who is walking without any bags is sweating like a pig. “Arjun, can we just go and eat something? I'm done for the day.” I said, almost begging. If I shop anymore now then I'll be dead. God, please have some mercy on your favourite child. “Okay. Let's go and eat.” I swear I saw a self-satisfied smile on his face or is it just my imagination? Maybe I'm imagining things. I seriously need some food before I either kill myself or someone else. Sigh. As we were going outside the mall I saw a chaat stall and I started dragging Arjun towards it.  “Let's go fast. Otherwise, someone might eat it.” I said while dragging him there. He just chuckled and followed me without objection. I thought he wouldn't like eating at these stalls. Whatever man, I'm getting chaat and I'm satisfied now. When we reached the stall and I saw the vendor looking like he's scared. Well, he should be because I'm going to raid his stall today. Mwahahaha.  Soon I was eating chaat and I think I look like some starved animal because people were repeatedly staring at me. Let them look. They should feel jealous of me that I get to eat chaat, and they don't. “You know,” Arjun suddenly spoke, leaning towards me, “you're making me jealous by giving all your attention to a simple plate of chaat. You should give all your attention to me; your fiancé, not a simple plate of chaat.” He glared at my plate like it's human and it stole his favourite chocolate. “Did you just say a simple plate of chaat? How could you? They are my love. And you just insulted the love of my life.” I fake cried. He pinched his nose and sighed, “God, no one can win with you. Did you not hear the other things I said?” “I did. I just didn't think it was of much importance.” I said smugly and he just looked at me incredulously. Also, I  didn't reply to that comment because I didn't actually know how to react to that jealousy thing.  At this point, he should be irritated by me. Hopefully, he'll leave me alone and I'll go back home and sleep in peace. “No.” He said and I looked at him confused. What is he saying now? “No, I'm never leaving you alone, ever. And I know what you're trying to do and it'll never work.” He said, determined. I think I said it out loud. Sigh. Now the chat was long forgotten, we were both standing at the side of the road and having a stare-down ignoring people who were looking at us curiously. I was the one to look away first.  “Uhh, let's go back now?” I asked while trying to hide my nervousness. I don't want him to know that he makes me nervous otherwise he will surely use it against me. “Okay.” He sighed and moved towards his car. I guess we are taking his car as I came here with Myra in her car. We were sitting silently inside the car for almost 10 minutes. I couldn't take any more of the silence so I blurted out, “Did you know that men can read smaller print than women but women can hear better than me." I thought he would find me weird and laugh at me but to my surprise, he turned towards me and looked at me with amusement. Yeah, yeah, look at me like I'm a freaking comedy show. I scowled. “Oh really? And how would you know that?” He asked raising a perfect eyebrow and I frowned. How do people even raise perfect eyebrow? I don't know how to do it.  "I just do." I shrugged and he moved his head forward. We were close to my house. Just a few more minutes then I can sleep peacefully.  "So about this marriage," he started but I cut him off. "I told you, I don't want this marriage. Just back off." I snapped at him. I'm getting irritated by him bugging me for this marriage.  “Why don't you want to marry me, woman?!” He asked banging his hands on the steering wheel. I then realised that the car had stopped and we were in front of my house. Before I could even think I blurted out, “because I'm lesbian.”
