Confrontation

2054 Words
Eleonore, I felt a painful pinching on my side making me turn angrily at Joey. To my surprise she was pointing at the far side of the cafeteria that was usually unoccupied. Well, not today. There sat the all too famous children of Dr. Samuel Demian. Every single one of them looking as good as the models fresh from the pages of a fashion magazine. If not better. They have been the talk of the town ever since. Why wouldn't they be? They are the perfect children of the famous doctor in town. Dr. Samuel Demian. Everybody knows Dr. Demian. The successful doctor that was the grandchild of one of the town's founding fathers Dr. Harry Demian. The Demians play a huge part in our town's history. We study about them in History class and their names sometimes can be heard in a bedtime story. They are indeed unforgettable. As I stare at them it felt like I was being pulled back into history. There was this girl named Cornelia. She have a long blonde hair that falls down in luscious curls to her back. Her eyes were of amber color - one thing that is similar to all Demian. Despite the age of seventeen, she already have the body of a woman. A voluptuous one at that. The other girl was named Nadine. Her short hair was sitting above her head like a crown with similar luscious curls. She have the petite built of a model. Her cat like eyes were accented by a thin layer of eyeliner both on her upper and lower eyelid. There was Eli. I believe his name is Elijah but I'm not really sure. His golden brown hair was cropped neatly. He possesses the buff body of an athlete. Showing how much time he had been working out. He's the only one along with Nadine whom I always see laughing and smiling almost appearing to be approachable. The eldest was Pierre. He is the only one who completely resembles Vaughn. He have a light brown hair that falls just a few inches above his shoulders. His hair was always brushed up and away from his prominent features. That's about the only noticeable difference between him and Vaughn. Although people have strongly taken a liking towards the dashing family. I've never seen them give back. I haven't seen any of them talk to other students aside from themselves. They would occasionally share glances at people, but not too long for those people to think that they actually care. After school I begged Joey to drive me to Mason's practice game. I know it sounds silly and I said I wouldn't talk to him unless he talked to me first. But as much as I hate to admit it, I probably love him more than he loves me. I miss him so much that it's actually starting to hurt. "Are you sure you want to do this?" Joey asked for the 3rd time on our way to the game. "I told you I am. I don't want to last another day without talking to him again." I said eyes planted on the road as if I'm the one driving. "I don't want our love to fade away." I said softly more to myself, feeling a tight squeeze in my chest. "Just be sure you're ready in case something came up." She said and I looked at her incredulously. "You're being weird." I say. Joey put her hands up to her defense. "I was just saying." "Hands on the wheel!" I yelled feeling my heartbeat rise.  "I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" Joey focused on the. When we arrived it had started raining and we're guessing the practice must've been cancelled midway. I still got out of the car and went inside to check just in case and what I saw made my heart fell. "Mason?" I couldn't believe my eyes. There he was, arms wrapped around a girl I don't know kissing her. Passionately.  When he finally pulled away, he smiled making my chest tighten even more so. I couldn't breathe. The girl smiled then finally, they noticed me. Mason's face dropped and his eyes widen in shock.  "Elea." He breathed. "It's not what it looks like."  I turned around and took off. Letting my feet take me wherever it may. The rain drowning my tears as I sobbed. Why did he do that? How long has he been doing that? What did I do? Is it because of my pride? Am I not good enough? Did I bore him? Questions. Question kept popping inside my head endlessly trying to search for answers I cannot find. All those time I have been waiting for him to finally reach out to me was probably the time he had been spending on another girl. I don't long I have been running when suddenly, everything went black. I have no idea how I got home, but when I woke up I found myself sinking to the comforts of my very own fluffy bed. A thick layer of blanket was draped over my body which is now drenched in sweat. The sun was still high up the sky outside. I rolled over and checked the clock which now read 4:37 pm. What? How in the world is it 4:37 when I was out late -  "Don't tell my I slept the entire day?" My throat felt dry. I was lucky to find a glass and a pitcher of water on the bedside table. I ended up drinking two glasses of water. Which proves just how thirsty I am. I stood up and wobbled towards the bathroom. And of course my sick self let me do something stupid. I showered. I changed into a fresh set of clothes and just as I slip my shirt on, I heard a car pull up outside. Curious, I peered down the window and saw an unfamiliar fancy silver car. It is a bit surprising to see such an expensive car around town. Although it is a well-endowed neighborhood, people tend to spend more money on land rather than other luxury such as cars. My breathe got caught in my lungs when a familiar face got out of the driver's seat. I watched as the tall figure look around. I ducked when his eyes reached the window of my room. When I stand to look again he disappeared so I guessed he walked up to the front porch. "What is he doing here?" I thought out loud. I was so curious but I am even more exhausted. I flopped down on my bed suddenly feeling cold. I buried myself deep in the comforts of my thick blanket as I shivered. The door to my room opened and Michael walked in to my surprise, Vaughn walked in behind him. I sat up in shock, I quickly regretted my action when a sharp pain shoot to my temples. "I'll be outside, I'm watching you." My brother glared at Vaughn before walking out. I would have laughed if it wasn't for my throbbing headache. "Is there something I can do for you?" I asked as I massaged my temples hoping to ease the pain. "I came here to tell you that Mr. Jenkins assigned us as partners for Literature and that we have to work on a research." "What?" I asked, my eyes going wide. I never worked with a partner for Literature. I personally asked our professor to let me work alone. It is one of the few classes I like aside from History and Arts. "I was told you didn't want to work with someone during the class but Mr. Jenkins insisted I pair with you since you're top of the class." I almost smiled at the last phrase. But hell! I don't really want to work with someone, specially when it involves a research. I will definitely not be able to work well with someone. I watched him set down the books I didn't notice he was carrying down the bedside table. "I've already started. I've noted down some of my ideas. If you're up to it just tell me when you get better." He turned around and started to walk away. "Hey, wait!" I called out. He stopped and looked at me, his left brow raising slightly. "Thank you." His face relaxed as he nodded. "I'll be off." I watched as he disappeared from the doorway and when Mike's head popped in. I smiled and gestured for him to come in. "What was that all about?" He asked, sitting on the side of the bed. "Nothing. He just left me some notes and told me about the research thing we had to do." I said honestly, hugging Mike's arm like a child. "You changed your clothes." His eyes widen at the sight of my damp hair. "You took a shower!" Mike pulled his arms away from me and made me sit up. "You are going to get worst sleeping with wet hair. Come on sit up I'll dry it for you." He disappeared to the bathroom only to walk back with my hairdryer in his hands. He shook his head disapprovingly and plugged it. "You're not even supposed to take a shower yet." The warm air from the dryer felt good. I let myself fall asleep with Mike lecturing me about showering while he was drying my hair. The next morning was no better, my eyes were red and puffy and I feel the worst. I did my daily routine and decided to dress up. This is what I usually do whenever I don't feel so good about myself, I dress up. I wore my favorite body hugging blue dress and my favorite platform boots. I had to put on more makeup to hide my eye's puffiness. Michael got into school first so I had to walk by my own. Well, at least it's not raining today.  I had a few people greeting me and complimenting my look which kind of help uplift my mood. Unfortunately, as if I couldn't get any luckier. A familiar face popped around the corner. He was talking to his teammates when our eyes suddenly met. I quickly averted my gaze and started heading to the opposite direction.  "Elea!" He called out to me. "Elea wait!" I ignored him and started to walk faster. I wanted to run but running is prohibited in the hallway so I couldn't. I lost him to the crowd of bodies heading towards their lockers. Mason cheated on me. Oh how ugly that sounds. And I hate how ugly it made me feel. Mason was my everything. He was my bestfriend before we started dating. We had something so beautiful but he decided to ruin it. He was my first boyfriend. He was the only boy my mom and dad knew. I'll never get to introduce another boy now that they're gone. I fought the urge to cry as I headed to History class. When I got into the classroom almost everyone was there and some even bothered to greet and compliment me. "Nice to have you back." I looked to my side and saw Vaughn casually sitting there. As usual his face was blank. "Thanks." I said. "Did you managed to run through the papers I left you?" I took my seat before answering, I felt almost every eyes and ears in class are now turned to us. "Sadly no, I spent the rest of the day sleeping." I said honestly. "If you want, we can work on it on my house later after school?" He didn't answer but held my gaze for a moment until Mr. Beckerts walked in. Class went by in a flash and soon I found myself sitting on our usual place. Nothing is unusual except for Mason, and his friend Tim who decided to join our table just like the old times. It was awkward, everyone can feel the tension in the air. I feel suffocated.  Just when I was about to lose it, Vaughn walked up to our table. "Would you mind stepping out a bit?" All of us were surprised by him suddenly approaching us. I mean me. "Yeah sure." I stood and followed behind him not before meeting Mason's jealous gaze.
