Chapter 9

I woke up and I saw my room's a mess. I crawled towards the broken music box clutching it to my chest and silently crying. I hid the broken music box in my closet and took a shower, I glanced at the mirror to find a pimple popped on my right cheek. I covered it with concealer and placed my hair in a pony tail and wore my glasses, I wore a blue tank top and covered it with a light green cardigan, I wore my white jeans and black flats. I got my bag and walked out my room to bump into a maid, "Clean my room and replace all the things broken." I tell her while walking down the stairs and going into the kitchen to find my dad smiling at me. "Good morning, Emily, there's blue berry pancakes, your favorite." he tried and I rolled my eyes, taking an apple from the fruit bowl. "I don't like blue berry pancakes anymore." I tell him while walking out and to the garage, I slipped in my car and slipped the keys in the ignition. Driving away. See what eight years of neglecting got him? He doesn't even know me anymore. When I parked in front of Sophia's house, I stepped out of the car and locked my car. I noticed a moving truck across Sophia's house, I entered their house and went to their kitchen to find her mom cooking pancakes. I grinned, "Morning!" Sophia's gaze snapped towards me and smiled, waving, "Sit down, mom's making your favorite." she tells me and I sit down beside her. "Smells good, aunt Janice." "It tastes good too," aunt Janice says while placing a plate in front of me with two chocolate chip pancakes. Sophia handed me a fork and I started eating, "Who's moving across the street?" I ask and Sophia shrugged, "A guy names Luke." "You met him?" "Nah, bumped into him," I nodded, finishing my pancakes and standing up. "Bye Aunt Janice, we're going to school." I say while walking out of the kitchen with Sophia, I heard aunt Janice say okay so we went out and got in my car. When I parked in my regular parking space and got out a bunch of students walked towards me and asked me questions about the werewolf I saw. and when I walked through the halls everyone started waving and smiling at me like we were friends. Geesh, I think the paper's out now. We went to my locker and opened it, for it to be only slammed. I jumped a little, "I almost lost my fingers!" I shrieked while turning towards who slammed my locker. Amanda. I should have known. She narrowed her eyes at me, "Look, geek, don't you dare steal my spotlight just because you got a picture of a werewolf." she hissed and I sighed, "I don't really care about that "spotlight" you're talking about." I said while using air quotes. Like I said the day before to Sophia, I don't like attention. Sheesh. She glared at me, "Look, like I said, nerd—" I cut her off, "Don't call me a nerd." I said while crossing my arms, "Or what?" "Then I'll call you a slut." I glared back and I heard many gasp and someone say burn! I'm going to assume it was Sophia who said that. She glared daggers at me and raised her hand to slap me but I'm faster so I caught her hand in time. She crossed the damned line! No one slaps me. No.One. "B!tch, no one slaps me, I've had a sh!tty day, lately and I don't want your f*cking problems mixed with mine. You don't want me to steal your spotlight? but honey I already did." I snapped at her and gripping her arm hard. Yeah, I said I don't want the "spotlight" but the b***h just had to cross the damn line! No one slaps me. I'll make her crumple to the ground, I'll take away her social status! I'll take away everything! Not everything...I just want to give her a lesson by never slapping Jade Emily Will "yeah, mothaf*cker! You messed with the wrong nerd!" Sophia yelled while I opened my locker and got my stuff, walking away from a red Amanda. I noticed that a crowd circled on our b!tch off so I walked through the crowd, Sophia along with me. The spotlight wouldn't be on her from now on. I'll make sure of that. * * * * * * * I drove home alone because Sophia had football practice because next week's the game against the Howlers from LeftBridge. I parked my car inside the garage and got out, I went in the house to find my dad smiling at me. "Hi, honey." he greeted me and I rolled my eyes, walking past him and towards the staircase. I went up to my bedroom and locked the door, I removed my glasses and placed it on the vanity. I lied down on my bed. staring up at my ceiling. I don't want dad pretending because he's feeling guilty. He should be at work right now. He shouldn't be trying to win me over because he's guilty, I want him to win me over because he wants to, he needs to, not because he's guilty that he missed out the eight years of my life. and if you're all wondering I'm fifteen and something months and I'm almost sixteen! My phone suddenly rang and I shuffled to find my phone. Where the hell is it? Raise your hand if you went through this, finding your damn phone is the hardest thing you can do! This can be in the world record if I found my phone before the caller stops calling. I cried in glee when I found my other phone. You see I have two phones, the other one is my public phone and the other is my private. my public is where everyone knows me as Jade and the private is who knows who I really am. and BTW Sophia's number is in the two. Glob, I sounded like one of the cheerleaders in school. Note to self never say BTW anymore. "Yep?" I asked answering the call. "Emily?" a soft voice asked and I softly smiled. "Ruby?" Ruby's my older sister, sadly she's in London being a model, let me tell ya' she's smokin' hot, if I wasn't straight (or her sister) I would date her. She actually acts and looks like mom, with the brown hair and eyes, and I really want her with me because I feel like she's the one feeling the hole my mother left. "I miss you," I whispered while closing my eyes. I hear her sigh, "I miss you too." "Why did you call?" "Dad." "Oh," I said disappointed, she didn't call because she missed me. She called because dad told her what happened last night. Well, she's pretty busy in London, she's famous there and she has lots of model friends and... "What happened this time?" she asked in a stern voice. I want to yell at her, tell her that she doesn't have a right to play big sister now! She left me and doesn't call. When she's here she's always on her phone I only get an hour with her before she flies off to London. But I just answered with a fake grumble. "Answer me," "I got into a b***h fight." Then she started rambling, scolding me but seriously, I just placed the phone down and got my blue nail polish and started painting my toe nails and would sometimes say "I'm sorry." and place it back down. When I heard her muffled voice stop I got the phone and hear her say: "Understand?" "Yes I understand and I'm sorry, it will never happen again." Lie! Then we said out goodbye's and I ended the call, throwing my phone on the bed and finished painting my toe nails. I blew on my wet toe nails and glanced at the clock. 7:42 PM Damn, I've been on the phone with her for three hours? She should really stop talking when I'm not listening. But, she doesn't even know I'm not listening so ha. I went down to sneak a slice of cake to my room, and got a bottle of water. When I got the food I need I rushed up to my room, I started eating while opening my laptop and logged in to Netflix but... I couldn't open it! I went to my phone and shuffled to call Sophia who answered panting, "What?" "I can't open my Netflix!" I yell and I can already imagine her cringing from my loudness. "I kind of shared your account with my football buddy?" "WHAT?! How could you?! I trusted you! I trusted you enough to give you my Netflix email and password! but you gave it to your football buddy who changed the password!" I yelled my eyes wide. "And email, don't forget he also changed the email." "Oh my gosh, I can't even look at you right now." "You're talking to me, not looking." "Oh, don't be smart with me young lady! You're grounded for a week! No Sneakers bar from me!" I scold her like a mom and I heard her sigh. "Okay, I'm grounded, I'm sorry." and I grin and ended the call. I always get the last word. Score 1 for Jade! I sighed, placing my phone on my nightstand, I lie down on my bed, suddenly feeling cold I glance at my balcony to find it open. I furrow my eyebrows before standing up, I walked towards the balcony, sticking my head outside and looked around. I stepped out and cautiously looking around, I didn't leave my balcony door open, I stopped when I felt something scrunch beneath me. I took a step back and picked up the piece of paper. I read the words written on it. You shouldn't have done that. Done what? I threw the paper and stepped in my room, closing the balcony doors, making sure its locked before I went to my bed, closing my eyes and falling asleep.
