I was in the elevator with Nik, pressing the elevator button to reach the desired floor for reviewing today's event response and discuss further projects, when I saw my brother approaching us towards the elevator, he stopped in between to pick up something but before he can join us or I can take a close peeking at the accessory in his hand, the door was completely closed.

As there was not enough time to discuss my plan with Nik and I have to act fast before things get messed up, with hesitation I started a chat related to Moli, how her life was treating her and how she’s dealing with everything at present?

Nik and Moli both were like an open book to me, I knew exactly what will I get in response but still, I preferred to pull up my cards right, it's not good though to get things done in that manner with bestie but to accomplish authentic outcomes of my doing it is more than vital. I was a little timid what if my plan backfire?, but at least I need to try for my dear friend and my brother.

Nik told me about the case they file and were waiting for cops to take action and to arrest the wrongdoer. But I knew well that it was complicated or practically impossible for the cops to find out about cybercriminal who was not even in the same country.

Yes, I knew everything from the beginning, the day when I started talking to Nik and Moli. I did a thorough background check and this is the main reason I am this close to them. They never pretend or deny any fact.

I paused a little, my heartache for the poor soul. Moli is a decent and loyal person, She doesn’t deserve all the sufferings. She always thinks about others, even if she was facing hardship by herself.

“Listen Nik, I have an idea which will help you, Moli and me. It’s a win-win for everyone.” I was focused to sign her in with me without letting her know what exactly was in my mind. I know hiding something with my best friend is unfair but right now I don’t have a choice.

She paused for a few minutes deeply enmeshed in her thoughts. I can feel her body tensed up. Before she can form a thing to blow up my idea without even listening to me, I gathered my courage and in one go I said with a most serious expression “All I need is your help to help her, you and me. I am promising you that you will not be going to regret it.”

“Okay, What is it….?” Nik asserted in a thoughtful tone and squinted eyes on me to concentrate on my every word.

With the ding elevator door opened, and with the firm movement of my hands I suggested Nik discuss it further in the conference room as Mr Johnson will be joining us approx. twenty minutes late. that amount of time is plenty for me to persuade Nik.

I sat next to her, ready to pour my heart out with the intellectual words of mine. “You knew already what my brother signed is part of the official deal, but here I want to offer you two other deals which will help Moli out of living hell and another one permanently lands you, with me, to Paris.” My statement was serious enough to catch her undivided attention.

“I know you want to help us but how??? and it sounds more like a favour to me,” Nik asked eyeing me curiously as well as with a questioning look.

“See, I will ask my brother directly to intervene in her case and provide her handsome job in his firm. It will not only protect her from further dangers but help her to grow in her career.” I said with the brightest beam and serious tone. “He has all kind of sources to investigate her matter. He will look after her as his own family, and this is what I want for him, it will also change his judgment towards women.”

Nik was motionless in her seat, staring at me with her jade black cat eyes As if I said something impossible to achieve.

“It seems a good idea to me, but it’s a big No-No Anna. She is not going to accept a job in your brothers firm. She hates favours, if she gets to know that you asked your brother to do such a thing for her, She will get furious and stop talking to you as well as me.” Nik said in one go shaking her head in disagreement.

For a moment I thought my plan sucks, but I am Moli's best friend now and I knew exactly what Nik is saying is true but this is her permanent getaway to escape. She was the kind of girl who will choose suffering over taking advantage or favours. It’s about her rules, values and self-respect.

“Nik I am not saying it to do it right now. But if things don’t work out the way she planned, I am going to do it whether you like it or not and you will help me in it whether you like it or not." I asserted with determination, I can’t let go of the only chance to get both of them together. I saw how my brother shows his interest in Moli and this is all I was planning from the moment I become her friend.

“Fine, but I know what else you are plotting. Look she has already gone through a lot, and I can’t risk her getting hurt again over your brother,” Nik said without beating around the bushes loud and clear to warn me to be cautious before starting anything.

“You knew me well. Don’t worry, My brother is more than a gentleman, he is Mr Perfect. If I asked him to do something, he gives in everything in his power to carry on his responsibility.” Anna said with a huge grin her eyes were shining with admiration and faith towards her brother.

Nik shrugs, smile awkwardly and said: “Ummm Anna this event is over and we needed to fly Paris within two days but I am not ready to leave Moli alone in mess.”

I nodded "Neither I Nik, she's my bestie same as you. She means a lot to me. My second offer is as soon as we figure out the way to help her without causing difficulty, we both fly back to Paris and you will work as a senior designer with me even I will provide you with every accommodation plus we both can visit Moli at any time."

Nik was glaring at me in disbelief as if I was bluffing with her, “I am offering this not because you are my friend but you earned it and don’t you worry if you mess things up at work or in my plan I will also kick your ass.” I laughed hard completing my sentence.

Nik rolled her eyes, and said with a saluting gesture “I know you are THE BOSS”. She was about to mumble something but stopped in her track as Mr Johnson enters the conference.

We talked about the new project for which we need designers to work and I gave him another Name that is Robert Ali who will report to my mother within three days as a junior designer in Paris.

I also formulated what my expectation was from his team over here.

I needed to make a few changes in the deal which my brother and Mr Johnson signed. As it will be great for both of us for future business. Everything is well except my missing brother, where the hell is he??

He arranged this meeting especially even at this unusual timing and everyone else are here except him. He never missed a business meeting before even if he was ill or there was a natural calamity in his way.

His carefree behaviour makes me wonder, what if he went after Moli????? Is it possible or just my mind wants me to interpret things like that??? And if he was really with Moli right now, I just hope that he won’t botch up things with her.

I gathered my attention at the meeting, everything was nearly sorted out. I have asked Mr Johnson to signed a newly updated contract tomorrow which includes detail of the new project in India.

Steve entered the conference room, he noticed us sitting, discussing the business. without saying a word he nodded with a small fake smile. He was trying to keep his cool while sitting next to me but he seems distressed, his face was flushed a few minutes ago but now he looks pale and his eyes were gloomy and lost. From time to time he was failing in an attempt to catch up on what we were conversing about.

“What do you think….???” That was all Mr Jonhson asked but my brother Steve wouldn’t blink an eye in response. It’s quite uneasy to watch him like that but it's also intriguing. He was physically available but his mind seems to be occupied by something else. I guess Mr Jonhson also understand it by his response, let me phrase it by the response he not received from my lost brother. He shifts back awkwardly in his chair scrutinizing my brother as if he was an unknown specie from space. Mr Jonhson gave me the most klutzy smile before excusing himself from meeting “Well, See you tomorrow then.”

I nodded back in return and he left eyeing my brother one last time. As I knew Steve was with us but his thoughts were floating god knows where I openly asked Nik what she thinks about my earlier ideas.

She narrowed her eyes and gestured to me that we have company. “Ignore him, He’s not even here.” I chuckled as I asked my brother did he just fart.?? “See he’s long gone in a dreamy world”

Nik clutched her stomach tight laughing hard trying to gasp for air in between her laughter. Soon she composed herself, her face turns from smiley to worry and in a low pitch, she asserted “ Give me some days Anna, I need to sort a few things out for her. I know you are offering me a lifetime opportunity, please try to understand. She won't agree to this. ”

I saw my brother was glancing at us with a blank troubled look on his face, certainly, he was zoning in and out which is good for me as all I need at this moment in time and yes from my bestie.

I was always impulsive when it comes to what I want, but today I decided to think from the viewpoint of the long run. I keep my calmest face with a genuine beam “take your time Nik. I am ready to help you, think thoroughly about both the proposals.”

I placed my right hand on her back left hand to give it a slight squeeze to comfort her more.

I was about to say more to persuade her about my intentions but stop in time to cut my brother of with a punching like to show him that I knew everything is off with me at that very instant. “ Oh! You are back brother, It’s time to leave now.” That is all I let out in my overly sweet mischievous voice to convey to him that the meeting is officially over and he’s too late to assert a thing.
