Laney had been on the run for a few years now. Dodging her three half brothers for that length of time hadn’t been easy. Once they almost managed to catch her, she was much more cautious now.
When her mother passed away when she was six years old, she was sent to live with her father. Her mother had immigrated to this country ten years previous from Japan. She was a petite and exotic-looking woman. Laney remembered brushing her mother’s long and lustrous black hair. She had never married but had gotten entangled in an illicit affair with Laney’s father.
Her father ran a small family-owned mining business with his three older sons from a previous failed marriage. Life was OK at first. Most of them doted on her and she felt loved and protected. Her oldest half brother had always made her feel uncomfortable. He never did anything inappropriate towards her when she was little, but she always had an uneasy feeling when she was around him.
Their attitudes towards her changed around the time she turned twelve. They discovered she had an unusual ability to sense raw precious gems and metals below ground. As her father and brothers became richer, they began to treat her more and more like a slave. They often worked her from before the sun came up until well after dark. She endured this treatment until she was sixteen.
Her father passed away from a sudden heart attack. He had been so cold and callous towards her the last few years that she barely felt the loss of his passing. She enjoyed a reprieve for about a year while her three brothers fought over the will.
That year had been one of the best she could remember. She amused herself by taking classes at a local circus performing arts academy. With her petite and limber build, she picked up silks and lyra fairly quickly. She worked hard to master as many skills as she could, it helped her to step away from reality for awhile. The spring recital following her seventeenth birthday changed her relationship with her oldest brother, and not for the better.
None of them had noticed she’d grown into a woman during their grief and subsequent fighting following their father’s death. Her performance on the Lyra changed that.
It was such a beautiful and sensual performance. Laney had been so proud of herself. Her teacher congratulated her afterwards, telling her it was one of the best she had ever seen from someone so new to the art.
She still remembers the extreme unease she felt that evening when her brother looked at her with new eyes. Suddenly she was this nearly grown, exotic, and attractive young woman in their midst. Her oldest brother, David, seemed particularly interested in her recent changes. Never mind the fact that they shared the same father. She could practically see his sinister mind working. She felt it wouldn’t be long before he did something dreadful to her.
That evening after the performance, she packed a bag with a few essentials. After everyone was asleep, she raided the hidden wall safe in her father’s old office. He normally kept a couple grand in it for sudden emergencies. She took half of what she found there, totaling around twenty-five hundred dollars. Packing it carefully in her bag, Laney decided to wait until the following day when she knew they would be away on business.
She didn’t know where she was going to go yet, never having been outside of Wyoming before, but she knew she had to leave town. Other than the odd shift in her brother's demeanor towards her, she was also afraid of being put back to work after finally enjoying some freedom.
She hadn’t counted on David staying behind with the intent of fully possessing her. At the last minute, he told his brothers that he had forgotten something and would catch up with them in town. Laney was in the shower when he walked in. She heard the door open and felt fear skitter down her spine. She called out to see who was there, all the time fearing she knew exactly who it was.
Her oldest brother, David, was a big hulking man. He was also mean, crude, and enjoyed picking fights. He would have been mildly attractive if not for the broken nose from too many fights and the look of contempt always in his eyes. His roundish baby face and blond hair that was so at odds with his other brothers' dark looks, was deceptively innocent.
Her entire body tensed and her heart raced while she waited, panting in fear behind the shower curtain. She could see a vague silhouette approaching and called out again, hoping and praying that she was wrong and this was just an innocent mistake.
Suddenly, a hand thrust through the side of the shower curtain and ripped it to the side, startling a yelp from her. She stood there blinking her eyes in surprise and attempted to cover her nakedness with her hands.
A look of satisfaction and lust glinted in David’s eyes as he leisurely perused her naked body. Her cheeks heated in shame and she felt utterly revolted by the way he looked at her.
“Looks like I found you in a compromising position, little sister.” He sneered as he reached for her. She tried to back away, out of his reach, to no avail. Grasping her forearm, he yanked her towards him with a little chuckle.
“I don’t think so, there’s no getting out of this one little sister.”
Dragging her naked from the shower, kicking and crying for help, he slammed her face down onto the bathroom counter. She felt the sting as her lip split on impact.
“I knew when daddy dearest brought you home you would turn out to be a beauty. Waited all this time for you to grow up…….now I am gonna finally have you.” He sneered down at her.
“Go ahead and fight all you want, it will make it better for me. Probably not so good for you though.”
She struggled harder as he began fumbling with the zipper of his jeans. Finally freeing himself of them, she felt his erection press against her left buttock. He leaned forward and pinched her left breast, laughing to himself.
“No worries little sister, it’ll only hurt for a bit. We got all afternoon to get you broken in properly. I already called the boys and told them I wasn’t feeling well and wouldn’t be meeting them after all.”
Laney sobbed, feeling utterly hopeless. She tried desperately to find a way to stop him.
“But you’re my brother, how could you do this to me? What if I get pregnant? What would our father have said? Please…..Please don’t do this.” Tears were running down her face and her body shook in fear. She hoped that would stop him. She was startled when he laughed louder and slapped her sharply across her ass.
“Oh you poor thing” he said mockingly. “Whatever will our poor dear father think? Well, other than he’s dead, he’s not really my father. My mother was apparently a bit of a w***e and became pregnant by one of his employees. So…. you see? No worries about incest.”
He began nudging at her with his erection. Laney thought she would throw up. She felt him suddenly shift, apparently losing patience with her pleadings. She felt him wedge his knee between hers, trying to pry her legs open for better access.
She squeezed her eyes shut, preparing herself for what was about to happen, when she abruptly felt rage building up inside of her. It was powerful, it was overwhelming, her eyes flew open from the intensity of it. She was confused by what she saw.
All the color seemed to leave from her vision, except for the small pool of bright red blood that had collected on the bathroom counter from her split lip. The site of her blood seemed to enrage her further and the edges of her vision began to darken. She focused on the blood and felt power surge through her like never before. Moments from David r****g her, she roared in anger in a voice she didn’t recognize.
“NO!”
Laney slammed her head back into his face. Blood instantly began gushing from his nose as he let go of her to cover his face.
“You f*****g b***h! You’ll pay for that. I am gonna really hurt you now!”
Laney spun around and lunged at him, hitting him hard in the chest with both her fists. With his pants still around his ankles and water on the floor from her shower, he crashed hard to the floor, hitting his head on the edge of the tub.
He lay there very still as blood began to pool around him. Laney held her breath, terrified that she had killed him and terrified that she had not. She crept towards him to check for a pulse and then shrieked a little when he moaned. Racing from the bathroom, she headed straight for her room. She dressed quickly, her heart racing, expecting him to come through her door at any moment. She pulled on a hoodie and grabbed her bag.
As she was reaching for the front door, she could hear him stirring. She ran through the door, grabbing the keys to his truck as she went. She nearly panicked when her brother began shouting her name and stumbling down the hallway after her.
The last sight she had of him was from the rearview mirror. He was stumbling down the porch steps, face full of blood, screaming threats at her.
Laney had driven the truck to the nearest bus station that was ten miles away and left it there. She hopped on and prayed for the best.
