December 24 2011 Elijah POV: It's only been a couple of days since Niklaus and my mother both departed from my life, it may not be forever but at least for the foreseeable future I was on my own and free to make my own family. No guilt or duty, no promises of always and forever, my future was whatever I wanted it to be, it wasn't about running from my father or trying to reform my brother or keep our remaining family together it was just about me, what I wanted my life to look like and who I wanted to spend it with.
