Chapter 8 - The Mysterious Call
It was seven in the evening when Krish stepped out of the office building. One by one, employees were leaving for the day, exhaustion visible on their faces. Krish walked toward the parking area and stopped, stretching his shoulders slightly.
Just then, a car pulled up beside him.
Behind the wheel sat Ruby.
Krish looked at her, surprised.
“Hey,” Ruby said casually. “Where are you headed? If you want, I can drop you.”
Krish smiled politely.
“Thank you so much, miss, but I have my bike.”
Ruby raised an eyebrow.
“It’s fine. And I told you... call me Ruby.”
Krish chuckled.
“Alright… Ruby. Is that better?”
“Yes,” she said with a small smile. “Much better. See you tomorrow.”
