Chapter 21 – He Is Coming
(Police Station)
Inspector D.D. sat alone inside his cabin, leaning back in his chair with his hands resting loosely on the armrests. His eyes were fixed on the pale, cracked wall across the room, but his mind was far away. Thoughts moved restlessly, circling the same unanswered questions again and again.
Something about the case felt wrong.
Too many gaps. Too many silences.
Vivek’s disappearance refused to follow logic. There had been no ransom calls, no witnesses, no solid trail. Days had passed, yet the investigation seemed trapped in the same place, going nowhere.
A sudden knock on the wooden door broke the stillness.
“Sir… Inspector?” a polite male voice asked from outside. “May I come in?”
Inspector D.D. blinked, pulling himself back to the present.
