When I pulled into the driveway everything seemed quiet. The 2 story house that Jo and I rented was the home of my dreams. After living the way I had and in and out of my car for so long.... This house was my safe haven. It didn't look like much from the outside - a fairly plain off-white with no shudders or accent colors that popped. Once you opened my bright turquoise door, however, you were engulfed in a sea of colors. Jo gave me creative freedom with the interior painting and I took full advantage. The walls are a splattered ombre of bright and happy rainbow colors. The trimmings are all a brilliant silver. I wanted this space to make me happy, and it does. Maybe that's why I was so caught off guard when I noticed Jo stewing on the plush leather couch we picked out. The strange part, was that it wasn't really Jo I noticed first, it was the murky grey cloud around him. He looked mad, but - suddenly I realized the cloud around him wasn't a cloud. I was seeing his aura. I steeled for a second, no doubt looking shocked and terrified. I only saw auras on the dead and myself. Jo obviously wasn't dead, but he was the one who could auras on living people. Not me. I quickly shook that thought off.
"Oh my God, my powers must be growing," I thought. Just at that moment I saw Jo snap his head towards me and blink a few times like he was just now noticing me.
"Uh hello..." I said. He looked insanely confused but recovered quickly.
"Hello my babygirl, how were your errands?" He asked smoothly.
I was getting that "something is up" feeling again but I too, remained smooth in my conversing, acting like I was excited to see him after a long day of wedding planning.
"Oh you know, lots of things to get exactly right, lots of people to relay the same messages to over and over... lots of b*****t..." I rolled my eyes and sighed.
"I'm glad to be back." I say, then force a sweet smile onto my face and kiss him on the cheek before turning up the steps to unpack my load. I've got to find out what he was just doing before I confront him. He looked so angry, but he was blank until his head snapped up. Plus, I could've sworn his head snapped up to look at me when I thought about my powers growing, and it was really weird. It was like he was looking into nothing and then when he turned to see me standing there.... it.. I don't know... Startled him? I've got to find out what spells he's using. I wouldn't be surprised if our book had a thought probing spell, honestly. Ours wasn't exactly a good one. I put my stuff away discretely in my office and grabbed the book off the shelf. No sense in hiding this one so I just sat down at my desk and started flipping through the old pages.
Eventually I landed on what I was looking for.
Thought Probing. Advantages and disadvantages. What to look out for. How to protect against it. How to use it.
I really didn't want to do this but I read through all the information and then called to Jo.
"Honey can you come here please?" I yelled down to him.
"Yup, one sec" He called back after a short delay. Was he doing it again? How much DID he do it? Oh God the lack of privacy... it turned my stomach.
"What's up, buttercup?" Jo's said, walking and pulling me from my over thinking. He noticed the book in front of me and managed a quizzical look.
"Light reading?" He chuckled nervously.
I didn't say anything (mostly because I didn't know how) I just stared at him knowingly with the page open in-between us until he shifted uneasily one last time and caved.
"Ev....I can explain..." He started, and I motioned for him to please do tell.
"Okay first I have a confession to make. I believe you can see the auras of people who aren't dead too. The colors and their meanings vary from person to person but a couple things are pretty straight across the board. We are gifted, Gifted people always have a gold glint on the outside of their auras. People who have been touched by death or darkness though.... they have a dark grey/black emptiness on the inside of their auras. Its like the colors are there but they don't actually touch the person. Mine has both, and until I met you I was the only one I knew of like that. To answer your question, yes. I have been mind probing you. Your darkness has always been charcoal grey at its darkest but lately I've seen the colors start to touch you more. I want.. no I NEED to know how to make my darkness go away. I didn't ask for any of it and I can feel it when it consumes me. I know you didn't run errands today. I was watching your mind until you stepped inside the protective cicrle and I was struggling to get a feel for what happened when you picked up and left... but then all of a sudden I heard you again when you were standing right next to me. I looked up and into your eyes and it was like I could see your soul through them. I could see the grey matter and darkness in me through them. You're a good person Ev. That's why you've been gifted with so much power. That's probably why you're able to heal your own darkness. I just wanted to figure out how to heal mine too..." He trailed off.
"I'm sorry, Ev. This is really important to me. I don't know how many others there could be like us but being able to heal darkness, even just our own, would help so many supernaturals. Not all of us are born into this or turned by choice. Not all of us are given gifts. We're on this path for a reason, Ev." He said after a short pause.
"I understand, Jo." I said, and without even realizing it, I meant it. Seeing the pain in his eyes... I knew he was being honest with me now. At least about most of it. I felt there was more to that story still but I wasn't going to push it tonight.
"We can talk about it more tomorrow. I'll be done in here in a few minutes, let's go to bed and get some rest." I said.
I gave him a small smile and he left me to ponder what was next. We hadn't discussed the wedding or the drawing spells at all in that little mess... but that might explain the drawing spells. He needs power to heal his darkness, and probably a witch. He must not know I'm a witch. I wonder if I could help him. if I could we could start setting all the souls free again. We could both be Dark and Mad free. It was only then that I realized I really HAD seen his aura earlier and it certainly was not brightly colored. The probing spell could've had an effect but I don't think it was that much... I need to practice what all I learned today and learn how to use it all better. I need to find out what other powers I could have if I opened myself up to using them all. My father had said I was very powerful twice now and Jo had said it too.... but I didn't feel that powerful yet? Yet. That's the key word. I will feel powerful soon. I'll even learn how to use telekinesis and I'll perfect my witchy magic blood. I won't be just a medium for long. Ask anyone but me and i guess they'd tell you I never have been "just a medium".
I head upstairs to find Jo in the shower and I can't help myself. Only 2 more days til the wedding, I think to myself as I stare at his chiseled, wet body through the steamy glass door. I can't wait. I slowly walked into the bathroom, and shut the door. Jo heard the sound and poked his head out the shower door just as I was taking my top off.
"Oou you're going to join me?" he said with a wink.
"I sure am." I cooed back as I shimmied out of my panties and climbed in next to him. I put my arms around his waist from behind and kissed the back of his neck.
"Mmmm" he moaned. "I've missed you, Ev."
"I've missed you too, Jo." I replied around the kisses I was still planting on his neck and back. When he turned around to face me, he wrapped his arms around me and his eyes held mine. The kiss that followed started off sweet, but soon it deepened and lust started building, getting hotter between us. Our bodies started intertwining and he lifted me up against the side of the shower while he rubbed my cl*t, and sank his fingers inside me.
I moaned, loud, and bit his lip. The next thing I knew his c*ck was inside of me. He thrusted gently as first, knowing that my h*le was always crazy tight around his d**k. The pace soon quickened until our bodies were slamming together and we were both moaning in ecstasy. Just about the time I felt my pressure rise and started to c*m, I felt Jo's c*ck start to twitch and his thrusts grew even deeper. The acceleration in pace flung us both over the deep end into screaming orgasms. We rinsed ourselves off and Jo backed me up against the shower wall once more, only this time he lifted me up and carried me, naked, to the bed. He laid me down gently and started kissing me - from my ankles all the way to my neck. He hesitated briefly at my large breasts as he played with n*****s, making me moan again. He brought his lips to my mouth giving me a deep hungry kiss and then slowly worked his way back down to my p*ssy. He moved his mouth on my cl*t and in my h*le in ways that I didn't think many men even knew how to. Jo was amazing; the best I've ever had. I broke from my mental rambling when I felt him sink 2 fingers in me as he bit down on my cl*t and started sucking, hard. My lower body flew into a convulsion as I screamed his name.
"Oh God, Jo!" He smiled at me and licked his fingers.
"I love you, miss Evellynne." He told me earnestly.
"I love you more baby." I replied breathlessly. He handed me a nightgown and we got dressed. Jo ran down to grab us some munchies and a joint while I got the bed ready and started a movie. We spent the rest of the evening cuddled up until we fell asleep with our arms wrapped around eachother.

When we woke up the next morning with the same routine as any other. Jo was up before me; he was showered, and dressed. I smelled the scent of fresh coffee and a lit joint as I showered and got myself dressed. The biggest difference today was that we were both feeling visibly closer to each other... and a lot more excited for the wedding! I bounced down the stairs to the kitchen with a smile on my face. As soon as Jo saw me he smiled too.
"Good morning love." He said happily.
"Morning." I winked, and made my coffee. When I was done I walked over to him and lifted the joint from his hand and to my mouth. I took a long drag and blew out the smoke, sipping my coffee afterwards to stifle a cough, then passed it back.
"So..." I started. "Do you want to help me with the wedding stuff I said I was going to do yesterday?" I asked with a knowing chuckle. Jo's eyes glinted amusement back at me.
"Of course, darling." he replied, mirroring my knowing smile with one of his own.
My own smile got a little brighter. I really was getting excited. The day after tomorrow. EEEKKK.
"I'll go start the phone calls before we leave." I say and head for my phone.
I call the Florist, a cute little mom and pop place called "Rose's to Riches" then I call "Sweets for a Queen" (the bakery) and "Cater 2 U" (the catering) and triple check all my appointments this morning for final decisions on the flower arrangements, the cake, and the food. Before I collect Jo and we head out I decide to call and triple check the DJ service and make sure my Playlist has been forwarded correctly. I know it's a mixed genre bag I'm asking for, but almost every song on it means a lot to both Jo and myself. Just as I'm confirming it and hanging up, Jo knocks on the door way.
"Everything good to go?"
"Yep, let's head out. The first appointment is at Sweets for a Queen at 9:45am." I tell him, as we're leaving.
The quiet drive only takes us about 20 minutes and as soon as we walk in the smell has my munchies coming to life. The cake smells so damn good my mouth is watering. They seat us at the table with a list of all the options we have to choose from while we wait for the first sample. I've already produced a picture and a sketch of the dimensions I want for our cake. Now, all we have to do is pick a flavor. Judging by the length of this list, it's gonna be a hard choice.
Mango Chocolate Marble
Strawberry Velvet Cream
Strawberry Dark Chocolate Marble
Double Chocolate Truffle
Those are the ones that stand out the most to me. Jo agrees when I show him and when the baker comes out to give us each a sample of the "Strawberry Banana Smoothie" I ask her if I can specifically get some samples of the ones I want to try most first. She happily obliges and we dig in.
"Oh my Goddess this is so good babe!" I squeal after the first bite.
"If this is how excited you are now, I can't wait to see how you react to the ones you were drooling over before you even tasted a bite." Jo says while wagging his furry eyebrows at me and chuckling.
"I can't wait either!" I muse.
"How the f**k am I going to make a decision if they're all this incredible?"
"You can knock it down to the top three and I'll make the final choice?" Jo offers, but I'm already scheming a solution.
"How about we pick three flavors together and then have them do all three tiers a different one?" I counter. Now it's my turn to wag my eyebrows.
The rest of the tasting goes incredibly well and ultimately we choose the Mango Chocolate Marble, Strawberry Dark Chocolate Marble, and the Strawberry Banana Smoothie with the Mango in the middle. We move on to Rose's to Riches and I'm so impressed with the flower arrangements made for us that I actually start crying.
