Chapter 69

King Nicholas’s POV

I walk into my meeting room at 3pm. Abel, Wilson, Derrick and two elite warriors are with me. The guards in the room are warriors from Crystal Lake. All the Elders are present. They stand when we enter. I take my seat and everyone else sits.

“Good day Gentlemen. I called this meeting to address a few things. First, I will be fully moving into my role as King effective immediately. I appreciate your help while I was grieving the loss of my parents but, now I am ready to accept the role my father left me”

“King Nicholas, we are happy to hear this, but to take on all responsibilities can be a bit overwhelming. I don’t think that is the right thing for you to do” Elder Peters says

“My decision was not up for discussion or debate. I may not have gotten the full training from my dad, but I am trained, and I will be making all decisions going forward”

“But, Your Majesty, I…..” he starts

“I said it was not up for discussion or debate. Why are you still talking?” I yell

He sits back and looks at me. His expression is surprised at first, then it turns into anger. He is not liking this at all.

“Next, I will be taking a tour of all the packs in the Kingdom. I need to get to know the other Alphas and address any issues they have”

“Sir, that can be dangerous for you” Elder Rhanes says

“Do I not have guards to protect me? Should I be concerned about the quality or loyalty of my guards?”

“No sir, we are just saying there are always enemies of the throne, and they may seek to harm you” he says

“Again, is that not what my guards are for?” I ask and they all just stare at me

“You know my safety seems to keep coming up as a concern. As if you don’t trust the guards' ability to protect me. So I will be doing a full re-evaluation and overhaul of the Kingdom’s guards and warriors. I will test their abilities and loyalty, and those who don’t pass will be dismissed”

“Is that necessary, Sir?” Elder Lincoln asks

“You are the ones that keep telling me I won’t be safe with them, so, yes”

“Sir, that is not what…..” Elder Peters attempts to explain

“It doesn’t matter, it is what I am doing. We will also be restructuring the team. Abel and Wilson will be moving into the positions of Royal Beta and Royal Gamma effective today”

“What about your current Beta and Gamma?” Elder Edwards asks

“I don’t even know who they are, so what about them? They will be relieved of their position effective immediately. I have already informed them”

“Sir, this is a lot of change at once. Having loyal people by your side through such a big transition is advised” Elder Jacks says

“I agree, which is why my two best friends and the men originally trained for the position will be with me. In addition, I have received complaints of abuse and illegal activity from the men you assigned as the Beta and Gamma. So they, along with some warriors and guards, have been arrested and detained for their actions”

“You can’t do that” Elder Peters yells slamming his fist on the desk

“Excuse me? WHO THE f**k ARE YOU TALKING TO? I AM THE KING AND I, CAN, DO THAT” I roar in my alpha tone

I watch them all cower and shrink into their chairs.

“Now, over the last week, I have been apprised of things going on in the Kingdom, and I am appalled. I accept blame because I was not active in my role as ruler of this Kingdom, but that changes today. As I said, there is going to be a restructuring and that includes you all”

“You can’t get rid of us”

“Yes, I can. Elders and Royal ranked members are held to a higher standard, even above Alpha’s of a pack. Their actions are to be above reproach. By law with proof of any illegal or immoral activity, I as the King have the right and obligation to remove any Elders from their position. A court comprised of the Alpha’s of the Kingdom is to be called, and a trial held, unless the actions are of a heinous nature”

“King Nicholas, are you saying you have proof that the Elders have engaged in illegal and immoral activity?” Elder James asks

“Yes sir, I do”

I watch as the men at the table start to look at each other. A look of fear morphs their features. The air in the room turns heavy as they start to realize the amount of trouble they are in.

“By Royal decree; Elder Peters, Elder Lincoln, Elder Edwards, Elder Jacks and Elder Rhanes are to be stripped of their duties and title of elder effective immediately. This action is supported by proof of crimes including murder, attempted murder, drugging the king, bribery, embezzlement of kingdom funds, r**e, knowingly allowing illegal activity to occur within the kingdom and going against your mate bond. This removal is supported by the majority of the Alphas in the Kingdom as per the petition now on record” Abel says reading the decree

“WHAT PROOF? YOU HAVE NO PROOF TO SUPPORT THESE CLAIMS” Elder Peters yells

“SIT DOWN” I command

“Derrick” I say

He rises from his seat and a projector is turned on, and a screen comes from the ceiling. If they want proof, I am going to make it big and bold.

“The first is a conversation with Elder Peters and Alpha Clarence of the Dark Hollow Pack, where he admits to hiring rogues to attack the caravan of the King four years ago. The one that resulted in the death of the King, Queen and other ranked members” Derrick says and plays the video

“Next is a video confession of a rogue who attempted to poison the King this weekend while at Full Moon” Derrick says and plays the video

“Next is copies of each of your bank accounts with large sums coming from Alpha Clarence of Dark Hollow. We were also able to find offshore accounts in the Caymans. Now this video is the confession of Mr. Smalls about his and others' participation in a s*x trafficking ring which the Elders were aware of and took bribes to allow to occur. There is also a video of a conversation between Elder Rhanes and Alpha Clarence, also Elder Peters and Alpha Clarence offering him s*x with the women kidnapped in exchange for the hush money he would normally provide. Attached are financial statements of money that was to be sent to packs for aid that was never sent, and exact amounts are deposited into the Elders accounts. Here are multiple requests for help from different packs and from members of different ranks from Alpha to Omega requesting and being denied help. Including help from multiple packs that have had women being kidnapped, which we learn are victims of a s*x trafficking ring you are aware of and participate in. And the cherry on the sundae, this video shows all the Elders in question at Dark Hollow r****g women who have been drugged” he says and starts the video

Unknown voice: Are these the new girls, Clarence?

Clarence: Yeah, they are your treat for the night, gentlemen, for all your help

Unknown voice: Nothing is free with you Clarence. What do you want?

Clarence: I don’t have to pay you for three months and one of the girls who got away is at Crystal Lake. She was pregnant when she escaped. The child is either mine or my son's, because we both f****d her

Unknown voice: She could have slept with someone else

Clarence: I took her virginity and we were the only ones who had her before I put her with the other girls to sell. I want my child. You will approach Crystal Lake and get my son

Unknown voice: Why don’t you just kidnap him

Clarence: I already tried three times. No luck. Now I’m asking you

Unknown voice: Fine. Now for some fun

The video continues playing, and you watch the men have s*x with the drugged women as they cry and plead for them to stop. Then loud gasps and hurtful cries are heard over the video. All the Elders look behind them to see, their mates have been brought into the room.

“How could you? How could you do this? I have known for years you have been sleeping with other women, but to be r****g young girls?” One of their mates say

“I am suffering in a hospital every month, and now I know why” another says

“You are disgusting! I Edith Rhanes, reject you, Tobias Rhanes as my mate and husband” another says

Her rejection leads to the other women also rejecting their mates. The Elders don’t accept their rejection and stand to go to their mates to explain their actions. Guards step in front of the women to shield them.

“Guards, arrest Mr. Peters, Mr. Lincoln, Mr. Jacks, Mr. Edwards and Mr. Rhanes. Place them in the dungeon in separate cells. They are to receive no food and only enough water to survive. They have benefitted and grown fat off of this Kingdom long enough”

The men are then cuffed and dragged from the room, yelling and cursing. Pleading with their mates that they were being set up and it wasn’t them.

“Ladies, your mates will be executed for their actions. I will give you another chance to reject them and I will command them to accept, so you don’t feel the pain of their execution. Now my guards will escort you to a room to rest”

The ladies are escorted out of the room.

“Good job gentlemen. Now the hard work begins” I say to Abel, Wilson, Elder Derrick, Elder James and Elder Crawford.
