Chapter 37

Alpha Derrick’s POV

Today is my last day as Alpha of the Crystal Lake Pack. In less than eight hours, Elder Crawford will perform the ceremony to make Thane the next alpha, followed by dinner, then a pack run. This day is bittersweet. I have enjoyed my time as Alpha and am ready to focus on my mate and myself instead of the pack. I know Thane will do an amazing job, especially with his mate, friends and their mates supporting him. I have been the Alpha of this pack for twenty-five years and though I am ready to move to the next stage in my life, I will miss this.

I truly can’t separate myself from the pack and it’s politics quite yet. I will use this time to focus on the information my brother has provided me. Taking down Dark Hollow and investigating the Elder Council. Maybe all of this came at the right time; me no longer being Alpha to have time to dedicate to this, the mates the boys have chosen and their expertise and skills to help us and Ana being here and accepting her fate as the Goddess’s Guardian.

When we left the Annex, Kramer gave us files from David. Luckily, Gregory stayed another day to allow Zora to pack and say goodbye. They drove her SUV to the pack. That gave us extra space to put all these files. I don’t know what is in them yet, but my brother has been busy for a while. The plan is after today, the mission will be our focus. Kramer, his mate and son will be coming to the ceremony today. To see Zora take the Gamma position and to officially sign the alliance. I also want to have him sign one with Full Moon if Xander is in agreement. Now that I think about it, though I may not be the Alpha I am still working. I guess you can take the Alpha out of the position, but you can’t take the position out of the man. It’s forever who we are.

Annalisa’s POV

My cousin and friends will be taking their positions in the pack today. I plan to be front and center to cheer them on. I am so proud of all of them. Finley and Zora just fit right into the group. Not only are they strong women, they are nice and smart also. The group of them will be a force as ranked members and will make Crystal Lake proud.

Since there was no official training today because of the ceremony. I did cardio and weapons training. Today I was in the woods focusing on archery and knives, two of my favorite weapons. I like my guns too, especially since my grandparents bought me a set of customized colored 9mm handguns. It was a gift for completing elite training. Uncle Derrick and Aunt Opal bought me a new bow and quiver, also customized. Thane and the guys got me a new set of knives. I was in seventh heaven with all my new toys.

I am entering the packhouse through the back after training. Going directly to the kitchen to get a snack before getting ready for the ceremony

“When do you want us to snatch the lady and her kid?” some male omega asks

“Not until after the ceremony. The woman is friends with the new Luna and her mate is a lead warrior. They will be expected at the ceremony, so we have to do it after. Maybe when she puts the kids to bed before the pack run” Pruitt, a kitchen omega says

“What if we get caught?” another male omega asks

“As long as we get off the territory with them, we will be okay. The Alpha will have transportation for us on the north side. That is opposite all the festivities”

“Why are you doing this, Pruitt?”

“I was promised that the Beta of Dark Hollow would take me as a chosen mate, and I wouldn’t have to be an omega anymore. Besides, the alpha says that the kid is his biological child, and it should be with him in Dark Hollow. I’m ready to go home. I have been undercover here for over two years”

“We can’t get caught because Alpha Derrick will kill us”

“Luckily, by then it will be his son in charge, and he is not as ruthless as his father. If we get caught, he will probably banish us, and then we will just go to Dark Hollow”

By this time, I had heard enough. I pulled out my phone and recorded the conversation after I heard them talking about snatching a kid. I guess we found our mole. I linked Thane and Uncle Derrick; they are on the other side of the pack kitchen waiting for me to tell them when to enter.

“You know I doubt very much that Alpha Clarence will let you stay in Dark Hollow if you fail your mission” I say

They all turn to me wide-eyed, not knowing what I know or what to do now

“What? What are you talking about? Who’s Alpha Clarence?” Pruitt stammers

“Alpha Clarence from Dark Hollow. Don’t worry, I recorded your whole conversation. You are already caught. And I can tell you Thane is as ruthless as his father when it comes to traitors and people who would hurt a child”

“Listen little girl. Just give us the recording, and we won’t hurt you” the male omega says as they walk towards me

I put my phone in my pocket. Throw a knife at the throat of one of the omegas, and another at Pruitt. The knife embedded into her thigh, causing her to fall to the floor. At that time, Uncle Derrick and Thane rushed into the kitchen and secured her. The other omega continues towards me; I throat punch him, and he falls to the ground gasping for air.

“One dead, two subdued and a recording of their whole conversation. I think this has been a productive day. I’m hungry now” I say going to the refrigerator.

“Send me that recording, Annalisa” Thane says

“Sure, you guys want a sandwich?”

“No, thank you Annalissa” Uncle Derrick says laughing

Warriors came and took the two prisoners to the dungeon and the other to the hospital morgue.

“You think we should let Dark Hollow know that Pruitt won’t be home for dinner?” I asked while eating a pickle and making my sandwich

Alpha Clarence’s POV

“I don’t want a chosen mate, Clarence” Vance yells

“I don’t care. I had to promise her something, and she wants you, so now you have a chosen mate” I state calmly

“I saw this woman one time. This is f*****g ridiculous” he yells

“Vance, it’s just to pacify her. You can do whatever you want to her, and you don’t have to be faithful to her. She also thinks she will be the Beta female. You know I would never give her that title. It’s just promises to get the job done”

“I hope so, Clarence, because if that b***h thinks she is going to mess with my life she is highly mistaken”

He finally shut up and sat on the couch. I found out from one of my associates that Crystal Lake will be having their Alpha Ceremony today. Derrick is finally passing down the pack to his son. I figured with all the people there this would be a great time to take Lucia and the baby. It should be easy for my mole and her helpers to grab them and get lost in all the chaos that comes with these types of ceremonies. For whatever reason, Pruitt the mole I implanted at Crystal Lake is in love with Vance. I had to promise he would take her as a mate when they completed the job. I was finally going to have my baby, my heir, at home. I know the baby is mine because I am the alpha and I f****d Lucia more times than Blake did. I already had one of the omegas set up a room for the kid across from my room. This will be our third attempt to get to her. I guess third time is the charm. I should be hearing from Pruitt soon, since its nightfall. The ceremony should be over, and they are doing the pack run. I told her to do it after the ceremony, but before the pack run when it’s easy to get lost, in all the people around. I smirk when my phone rings.

“Alpha Clarence”

“Alpha Clarence, this is Alpha Thane of the Crystal Lake pack”

Why is he calling from Pruitt’s phone? I think to myself

“I wanted to make you aware that Pruitt is dead”

“Who the f**k is Pruitt and why are you calling me to tell me this?”

“According to the information she gave us, she was a mole put in our pack by you, she was to kidnap two of our pack members and bring them to you per your instructions, and she was the future Beta Female of your pack. She also had your number saved in her phone as ‘My Alpha” he says mockingly

“None of that is true. I don’t know any Pruitt”

“You never met Pruitt?”

“No”

“I guess she lied then. Disregard this phone call then Alpha Clarence. You have a nice evening” he says, and hangs up

“FFUUCCKK!!” I yell and throw my phone

“What happened?” Vance asks

“Pruitt was caught”

“s**t! At least I don’t have to take a mate now. This is the third time you guys tried to get that girl and the kid. Just leave it be”

“I will not leave it be. That is my child, and I will get him back” I yell

I linked Blake to bring me an omega. I need a stress release. Ten minutes later, he pushes an omega into the office and locks the door. This omega has serviced me before, so I shouldn’t have to deal with all that damn crying the new girls do

“Robin, face down on the desk now”

She walks over with tears in her eyes but makes no noise. She pulls down her pantyhose and panties and assumes the position. I am so angry! How dare that boy call here, accusing me of plotting to kidnap my own child? I slap Robin’s right ass cheek hard five times. f*****g Pruitt, how dare she give me up when she got caught? With my anger I slap her left ass cheek now five times. That is my child! They can’t keep my child from me! My anger grows as I continue to think of what happened. I take off my belt and beat Robin. I guess her not crying is not a thing now. When I’m done, I look at her butt and legs. They are red and have open cuts oozing blood. I drop my pants and ram into her. I must quell my anger. Beating her helped a little, and now I will f**k the rest out.

“What has you so angry?” Blake asks

“I instructed my mole to kidnap Lucia and my son. Not only did she not get the job done, but she also got caught, told them it was me and lost me a mole in the pack”

“I told you it wasn’t going to be easy getting to them. Just impregnate someone else and forget about them” Blake says

“That’s what I told him” Vance says

“No. That is my child. No one will take my child from me” I yell

The thought of those people with my child angers me. I start pounding into Robin faster and come inside of her. I pulled out and instructed her to leave. I guess with the beating and f*****g, her legs are weak and sore, so Vance carries her to her room

“What will you do if that child is mine and not yours?” Blake says smirking and leaving the office

He’s becoming annoying and defiant lately. Gotta keep an eye on him!
